Hiding your tracks from Trump: Online privacy worries heat up

Subtitle: In the face of a new administration, activists and regular people alike embrace tools for keeping their browsing habits and communications private.

There's something about a Donald Trump administration in charge of the US National Security Agency that has folks taking government surveillance very seriously.

Encrypted email provider ProtonMail and encrypted chat service Signal saw a spike in new users after the election. What's more, privacy advocates say they're hearing from more people who are interested in covering up their tracks online.

Eva Galperin, a global policy analyst at the privacy-oriented Electronic Frontier Foundation, said she's received more requests for trainings than usual since the election. Concerned internet users include journalists and activists, Galperin said. Driving these groups' fears is uncertainty over how an unpredictable Trump administration will handle its profound surveillance power.

Bullcrap. In the Bush and Obama era, the NSA has collected the rough equivalent of the entire 40 year database of the Stasi every 2 days.
Trump is the first president in decades that likes the American people by instinct.

And he’s the one to fear. BS

These are mostly the “pizza or pasta” types that were protected by the Democrat Party.

My online privacy is 100% more secure with Trump in charge then it ever was with Obama or would of been with Hillary. Unlike those two messianic narcissists, Trump could care less about my browsing habits. It was not Trump who thinks criticizing of the Regime should be criminalized. Was not Trump who set up a white house website for people to snitch to about people criticizing their health care plan. Was not Trump who created an enemies list of groups to go after with the IRS and other Government agencies becasue they were critical of the 0 regime.

There’s something about a Donald Trump administration in charge of the US National Security Agency that has folks taking government surveillance very seriously. …
And nothing about what a Hillary administration would do/have done, really? or what happened during eight years of Obama, seriously?

Also note the use of the word “folks”, one of Obama’s favorite words.

I think the “Deep Web” and Democrat perverts, pedophiles and pederasts should be worrying.

Properly motivated and directed they could accomplish miracles any mother would be proud of.

So, what are they wanting to hide? I mean, really, if you're not doing anything wrong and standing for truth, you have nothing to hide. Here, I use a pseudonym just to keep people like that from getting me fired from jobs (which has happened SEVERAL times over the past 30 years because liberals don't like my conservative point of view) and that is the ONLY reason I do that. Otherwise, I would use my real name (if it were permitted).

I now keep a low profile at work and stay employed for years in a job until I decide to leave. Liberals can say and do almost anything and keep their jobs. Conservatives are NOT afforded that luxury and THAT is my number one beef with society. The liberal leftists who have done that to people need to themselves be unemployed and punished in such a way so that they would have a self-embedded note to NEVER cause someone to be employed because they didn't like his/her point of view. My feelings on that go beyond what may be written here.

We now officially live in idiocracy. Champion increasing government powers until someone is elected who you don’t like. Then wail about the possibility of abuse of power.
