“Home grown terrorists” is government dog whistle to crack down on “NRA members and Tea party members.”

News just said he got a general discharge. That is not particularly an honorable discharge.

Sometime very soon, if not already in the works I can see the gun-grabbers demanding firearms and ammo will no longer be permitted in checked baggage.

“When asked about whether this was a terrorist act, Broward Sheriff Scott Israel told Local 10 that he did not believe there was a larger plot involved.

“Based on the information I have at this time, it would be a home-grown violent extremist,” Israel said.”

Firearms

When traveling, comply with the laws concerning possession of firearms as they vary by local, state and international governments.
Declare each firearm each time you present it for transport as checked baggage. Ask your airline about limitations or fees that may apply.
Firearms must be unloaded and locked in a hard-sided container and transported as checked baggage only. Only the passenger should retain the key or combination to the lock.
Firearm parts, including magazines, clips, bolts and firing pins, are prohibited in carry-on baggage, but may be transported in checked baggage.
Replica firearms, including firearm replicas that are toys, may be transported in checked baggage only.
Rifle scopes are permitted in carry-on and checked baggage.

United States Code, Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 44, firearm definitions includes: any weapon (including a starter gun) which will, or is designed to, or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive; the frame or receiver of any such weapon; any firearm muffler or firearm silencer; and any destructive device. As defined by 49 CFR 1540.5 a loaded firearm has a live round of ammunition, or any component thereof, in the chamber or cylinder or in a magazine inserted in the firearm.
Ammunition

Ammunition is prohibited in carry-on baggage, but may be transported in checked baggage.
Firearm magazines and ammunition clips, whether loaded or empty, must be securely boxed or included within a hard-sided case containing an unloaded firearm. Read the requirements governing the transport of ammunition in checked baggage as defined by 49 CFR 175.10 (a)(8).
Small arms ammunition, including ammunition not exceeding .75 caliber and shotgun shells of any gauge, may be carried in the same hard-sided case as the firearm.

He signed up for the National Guard in August and spent time in the loony bin in November. Guess that’s when he was kicked out of the NG. Three months hardly makes him ex-military.

no clue if this is accurate, but this guy seems to have found social media of the shooter as a muslim convert.
https://twitter.com/wesearchr

GotNews.com broke the info but that site is down atm. No clue if ddos attack or just sudden heavy demand.

Also, if the correct guy is the one identified, he’s a suspected pedo of the “not enough evidence to prosecute” sort.

Ok, so he DID serve overseas (Iraq). And then got infected by jihad, either because he had mental health problems, or it all gave him mental health problems. Jihad isn’t all that sane.

“The alleged Fort Lauderdale shooter took Delta #1088 from Anchorage to Minneapolis-Saint Paul last night, landing this morning, and then he took Delta #2182 from Minneapolis-Saint Paul to Fort Lauderdale airport, says sources involved in the investigation.”

DELTA AIRLINES
CHECKED BAGGAGE

Shooting Equipment

Shooting equipment is allowed as checked baggage only. It must fit within the very specific criteria that we outline below.

Declare to the Delta representative that you are checking a firearm.
Declare the existence of a firearm to security personnel if there’s a security checkpoint before the Delta counter.
All firearms must be declared by the passenger to a Delta representative at the main ticket counter.
Present firearm(s) unloaded and sign a “Firearms Unloaded” declaration.
Firearms must be packed in a locked manufacturer’s hard-sided container specifically designed for the firearm, a locked hard–sided gun case or a locked hard-sided piece of luggage. Handguns may be packed in a locked hard-sided gun case, and then packed inside an unlocked soft-sided piece of luggage. However, a Conditional Acceptance Tag must be used in this case.
Maintain entry permits in your possession for the country or countries of destination or transit.
Ensure small arms ammunition is packed in the manufacturer’s original package or securely packed in fiber, wood, plastic or metal boxes and provide separation for cartridges.
You are responsible for knowledge of and compliance with all Federal, State or local laws regarding the possession and transportation of firearms. For more information about this regulation you can visit the TSA websiteOpens External Site in new window.
