WASHINGTON, Jan. 5, 2017 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the seven retail firms selected to take part in a pilot designed to enable Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants to purchase their groceries online. The two-year pilot is slated to begin this summer.

"Online purchasing is a potential lifeline for SNAP participants living in urban neighborhoods and rural communities where access to healthy food choices can be limited," USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack said. "We're looking forward to being able to bring the benefits of the online market to low-income Americans participating in SNAP."

Now these folks don't even have to fit out the front door to get their food...just as long as their arm can grab the chow. The government has succeeded in developing the functional equivalent of voting plants.

Yeah, tell ya what, I’ll make it easier and deliver the ####ing food myself and feed them with a ####ing fork and knife.

What the ####?!?!

Trump’s gotta kill this program and kill SNAP.

Or as I call it, from seeing it abused when I drove livery, the Supplemental Narcotic Assistance Plan.

So many people used to get 50 cents on the dollar from grocers to buy drugs, I lost count.

I am betting their computers, IPads, phones and Smart TVs are nicer than mine. Free everything. And, now, they don’t even have to go to the store. smh

How would you like to be the deliveryman? Wonder if they will have someone riding shotgun?

In Western NY, they only get $.30 perdollar.
We just had a fish monger in the inner city, food desert, plea in FED.gov court for theft of some 3 million dollars.
There is too little accountability, and too much theft with SNAP,
it's time to bring back surplus food, and eliminate the lobster , Lexus, and store owners cashing in on the SNAP program.
It is rife with money laundering !

If only this were to be used by truly disabled people with actual mobility issues, instead it will be exploited by lazy blacks in the hood and lazy white trash in the trailer parks.

Online an internet purchasing is done anonimously
There is no personal identity with online purchaees
and it breeds corruption and misuse.

Wonderful! Now install toilets in the sofas and SNAP recipients will never have to miss a minute of their TV programs again.

No. It’s time to wind down the feed-the-lazies and the druggies altogether. We don’t have to do it all at once, say a 10% reduction each refill of the cards. At the same time I guess we would need to station National Guard troops around the ghettos for a while and advertise that Looters Will Be Shot.

A guy I knew used his food stamp card at a carryout a block north. The raghead bastard running the place charged double for items bought thusly. Seven bucks for a pack of cheap ciggies that cost $3.50 anywhere else, etc. Infuriating!

Is shipping going to be free if they are SNAP “Prime” members?

Yes, when are we going to outlaw them using EBT/SNAP for pop and junk food? If they claim they are trying to serve people in “food deserts”, why ship them junk food?!?

This is outrageous. At least before, they had to drive their BMWs and Mercedes to the store to buy their stuff and then people could marvel at their pricey rides on the public dime. Now they can just use their expensive latest model of Smartphone or computer and the free food they don't even deserve, bought on OUR dime, comes right to the door so they don't even have to move their lazy a@@es.

And if the store personnel and manager are the usual corrupt dirtbags, they will happily sell them stuff online which the cards are not supposed to pay for. I always said that grocery stores stock Asian apple pears (over $1 each), fillet mignon, dragon fruit, and other stuff normal people don't buy due to their cost for their SNAP card patrons. THOSE people walk out smirking, having purchased stuff most of us don't budget for, taking their free food (for THEM) out to their luxury rides. Makes you feel stupid, right? Like you're doing things wrong? First wrong thing was electing libtard politicians.

My wife just told me about a smirker with a full cart full of free food...just a couple days ago. Smirk was the exact word she used.

That's a nice turn of the phrase there. I'll have to remember that. Thanks, :0)

“urban neighborhoods and rural communities where access to healthy food choices can be limited,”

Why are there no large grocery stores in urban neighborhoods? Because they were looted so often they moved out. Let them eat rats.

Online purchasing is a potential lifeline for SNAP participants

Online SNAP is a potential lifeline for bureaucrats to maintain control of the economy. Currently, bureaucrats control the brick-n-mortar super-market economy. Do you realize that SNAP/EBT/WIC is the largest customer of Walmart, Kroger, Safeway, Piggly Wiggly? Far larger than you or me individually. As such, retailers jump when the bureaucrat coughs.

Now the bureaucrats will control online as well.
