The Brits seem to do a good job of record-keeping, as far as companies are concerned. So the link above goes to a profile of Christopher Steele's company - Orbis Business Intelligence.
First of all, Steele is supposed to be the "Former MI6" mastermind and general James Bond character, who accumulated the Trump pee story. In reality, he just runs a third rate political consulting company.
As far as I can tell, his last post in Russia was no later than 1998...so his contacts there might be a tad bit stale. But lets look at this juggernaut of a company. Scrolling down at the link, are links to .pdf reports annually.
The 2015 report shows that this international man of mystery is at the helm of a company worth 122,000 L in shares, and a book value of 7,000 L....and that's the high water mark.
So, in summary, this two person shop with minimal assets, and no presence in Russia for almost two decades, somehow managed to gather all this information about international spy meetings in Prague and hookers in Moscow...information that no other political research firm could get.

The alleged meeting between Trump’s Michael Cohen and representatives of Russia in Prague has been thoroughly debunked. Even CNN’s Jake Tapper has walked away from that one.
The real villain in this story is John McCain. He’s the one who fed the story to the FBI, and is the most likely person to have leaked it to the press.

The media will be unrelenting in their attacks on Trump over the next four years, regardless of his success in reviving our economy and strengthening our defense. I’m old enough to remember what the press did to Nixon well before Watergate.
Absolutely. McCain ran with a piece of pure fiction. There is no way he could ever live this down. I’ve never witnessed a more down and dirty move than what McCain has just been caught doing. How could he possibly excuse himself for this? America deserves better.

I saw the CNN interview with McCain where he told that he got the information and gave it to the FBI. What was so strange about it was that they showed it twice without switching to anything else in between. This was after Trump took Acosta to task. I took it as CNN saying: here’s our source: John McCain.
Nixon had Agnew to do the attack dog thing until Agnew was forced to resign. Reagan certainly did not have a friendly press, but there was not the visceral hatred for him that there was for Nixon and, now, for Trump.

well you can count one of the blessings as educating people on here who are younger. To say the least. I didn’t know that Russia and China had a war. I thought Vietnam was a relatively new country. I got to watch the Kennedy and Nixon debate because someone sent it to me on YouTube. I found out about Ted Kennedy being the cause of immigration reform. And thousands of things more. And I appreciate it.
I was maybe 12 to 14ish when it all went down and didn't get it all, but think of this...
* Nixon worked for McCarthy.
* McCarthy was right and ther were pissed he exposed the commies in Hollywood ( and the press?).
* Who worked to take down Nixon? Hillary Clinton
* Trump took down Clinton
