The University of California says President Janet Napolitano, a former Homeland Security secretary and Arizona governor, is in the hospital due to side effects from cancer treatment.
UC said she was diagnosed with cancer at the end of August and her treatment is almost complete. She has continued to work at "full capacity," according to the university, while undergoing the treatment.
Due to side effects, she was hospitalized Monday and is expected to be discharged this week, UC officials said.

I didn’t like her policies as Homeland Security Sec., but I accept her as one of God’s children. I hope she gets better, then retires. No one deserves the full ravages of cancer.

My dad died of cancer; I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. I wish The Skunk a full and speedy recovery.
I’m a cancer survivor. I had it very easy. I couldn’t even wish the death of Teddy Kennedy from the terrible brain cancer that he had.
I don’t like to make hay off the misfortune of others.
Wish the Democrats felt the same way.
Napolitano, as Christians we rise above the behavior of the Left and wish you a speedy return to good health in accordance with God’s will.

Yes, I can imagine that, given what you went through, even if you “had it very easy,” you wouldn’t want to see anyone else experience it...and certainly not experience worse than what you dealt with.
