The corruption is massive. > IMO
= = = = = = = = = = =
No word or words to describe how large it is.

Starts with the Garbage mans wife getting free nails done if her husband arranges the schedule to not inconvenience them.

Moves to Wife of Gov getting place on board of directors just because she is the wife of the Gov AND WE ALL sit back and let them.
Other than a ‘do nothing for high pay job’ the impropriety of the whole situation stinks...

How rich did Boxer/Feinstein get from husbands being involved with Commissary stores and Dole pineapple?

Even Cruz with his Wall Street wife maybe they ‘rate’ these positions on their own but the eye of decency sure seems to cloud over.

There has ALWAYS been a ‘scratch my back and I will scratch yours’ mentality in this country but it is getting out of hand.

You want the job of Congressman/Senator/Governor, your wife cannot work for companies that COULD benefit from YOUR position.

In actuality that is the litmus test and the price that D Trump is paying for being successful.

I really hope when he gets his feet on the ground and things rolling the issue of spousal abuse of the system by mates of OUR representatives gets looked at.

I also take the stand that one shouldn’t be able to give money to a candidate unless he will directly serve you.

We shouldn’t allow Texas/NY/CA money to determine the Gov etal of say VA, TN etc etc.

Of course people are just taking advantage of the loopholes etc the people in ‘power’ rigged for their benefit...

Then again to say that a spouse can’t do outside ‘work’ should mean they be allowed to work and get paid for WORK in the mates administration.

You address the issue as it should be addressed.

You raise a number of issues, and I’m not convinced you and I understand all the insidious ways this plays out. You have obviously touched on some of the more glaring out in the open ways, but I’ll bet there’s plenty of stuff we never dreamed of also.

It is our task to raise this issue and let others who do know all the insidious ways to come together and rid our government of these things.

I hope Sessions is clean enough where he can address it. It needs to be done.

If our guys n gals had to live off their government “only” salary, perhaps they wouldn’t be so happy to spend their life on Capital Hill.

I would also like to ban people leaving Congress and being picked up by some insider Corporation that was getting the benefit of their actions before they left Congress.

There’s a lot of fertile ground here. Most FReepers could join us here and be right at home on this.
