Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather is teaching an online course in journalism called “finding the truth in the news” at UDemy. Now, he’s taken to Facebook to say that the media, the American people, and the political class has to call out President Trump on his lies. No, this isn’t the Onion.
“These are not normal times. These are extraordinary times. And extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures,” wrote Rather. “What can we do? We can all step up and say simply and without equivocation. "A lie, is a lie, is a lie!" And if someone won't say it, those of us who know that there is such a thing as the truth must do whatever is in our power to diminish the liar's malignant reach into our society,” he added.
Yeah, this is coming from a man who embroiled CBS in scandal for using unverified memos that offered an unflattering picture of President George W. Bush’s service in the Texas Air National Guard in 2004. Experts concluded that the memos were not authentic. And Rather soon was shown the door. So, while it’s obvious that we should call out the president, whoever that may be, for spreading falsehoods—it’s a bit absurd to take orders from Rather, a disseminator of fake news, on this subject.
When Rather lies, we’ll when does he not?

The time is at hand to start shaming these people in a very public way. 140 characters, or less.
When Dan Rather speaks, wait five seconds ... throw head back and BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA loudly ... rinse and repeat

Of all people! Isn’t there some kind of chutzpah award? Rather could retire the trophy!
Because O’Bunghole never ever lied even about the most inconsequential things even the teeniest tiniest itsy bitsiest little bit, so it was totally unnecessary for the news media to make statements like that the day after his inaguration
Media ringtails have no shame it seems.
Rather was also involved in what looks like an effort to set up a private prison in Afghanistan in order to smear Bush. But then his coconspirator got arrested by the Afghan police and the scheme unraveled.
Absolutely NO moral authority to point out the faults of Trump. Absolutely NONE.
Dan Rather complaining about people lying. Like Brian Williams warning us about ‘fake news’.
F**k you both. With a K-bar. You are both toxic and made of lies and manipulation. Go and roll in your piles of money, content with the perception that nobody who does objective fact is going to track you down and hang you.
Dear Mr. Rather,
The lies you mention seem to be more on the side of main stream media as your own career so seriously pointed out. Young journalists that chose to avoid marxist indoctrination and instead carry out their careers using a base belief in the American enlightenment should avoid approaching life in a manner suggest by you and your ilk.
