You know, Trump also just made the Keystone XL way more expensive (and illegal) to build
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | January 25, 2017 | Linette Lopez

In all the tumult over US President Donald Trump's signing of a memorandum in favor of the speedy resumption of building the Keystone XL pipeline, something important has been lost.

It's that he also signed a memorandum that would make the pipeline way more expensive and in violation of international trade law.

It is ironic that this was printed in the San Francisco Chronicle. The Bay Bridge was made of Chinese steel, fabricated in China, brought over here on Chinese ships and erected using a huge Chinese crane.

You get what you paid for.

I still hear of the cost overruns of the Bay Bridge chinese steel fiasco.

The homos in sanfran have no idea what they are talking about. They just need to shut up and let the adults handle this.

The Lying Leftist Media. They are presumed to be lying and we should assume that what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.

Why post this drivel?

Yeah, sure, Mz Lopez. Pres. Trump’s army of lawyers probably never checked on the legality of this action. Give it up, CA media. You don’t matter.

Check out the engineering screw-ups and quality control cover-ups under aegis of Caltrans.

The Bay Bridge may not make it through the next shaker.

Tremendous exhibit of fake news and editorializing in a unproductive manner in a supposed “news report”...you know?

Hardly true. There is no overseas steel that cannot be rejected for unfair practices, inferior quality, timeliness, shipping costs, color, etc.

And to make sure the cost issue works out, Trump can even dump a 10% tax on them at his own discretion.

For some San Francisco reporter to write this Keystone story, and yet the Bay Bridge-falling apart story just lingers there...all going back to Chinese steel...but they won’t tell the story because it’ll make the decision-makers (all Democrats) look pretty bad...is fairly sad.

Not to slam the Chronicle too much....but they might want to hire some new journalists.

Yeah, and the Chinese botched the manufacture of critical elements of the eastern-span repair project, the addressing of which led to an increase in the bridge toll.

Aside from the quality issues with Chinese steel, having a healthy domestic steel industry is also important to national security. Might be kinda hard to fight a war if you have to depend on imports.

And don’t forget the argument between the Mayor Brown’s over which side of the existing bridge the new bridge would be on caused an over two year delay and a YUUUUGGEEEE price increase.

Correct. Their arguments are as weak as the Chinese bolts that they used.

I knew the far collective left and the far libertarian right would come together and join forces to fight a common foe, a real nationalist as President. It is happening now.

Donald Trump might be forced to end membership in the WTO.
Donald Trump has now questioned American membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO). Critics say he is "insane," but are we "insane" to remain in the WTO?

IF this is true, then it’s Barky’s fault. One Big Ass Mistake America should have greenlighted Keystone years ago thus saving us millions if not billions of dollars.

And we thought that California was eff'd up before. Not only do we suffer the pervert capital of the country, but now we also have a hysterical Al Gore clone as a senile governor.

NOT MY GOVERNOR!

>>>Why post this drivel? <<<

Been asking that for a long time . . . why does it need it’s own thread? Why not include it in the body of another thread . . . “News of the Absurd”

Right now it is the second thread on the page . . . if I were a first time visitor to FR I could conclude that this is just a nicer version of D.U. and surf to the next site.

Another thing, it seems we have stopped using a BARF BAG ALERT.

The way it is setting there without any negative warning, it appears that we approve of the sentiment of the article.
