we dont want any of the repeal to take effect until there are concrete, practical alternatives in place. Alexander said HEY A-HOLE!
The alternative is:
The carriers go back to selling health insurance like they did before.

It is up to us to clear the swamp in congress. Rush is a paid lobbiest for certain powerful congressmen. I quit listening to him when he jumped on W’s bandwagon about 9 months before the primaries. He is a powerful voice and President Trump was wise to stay clear of him.

They’ve had 6 years to formulate a replacement, and they’ve done nothing.
REMOVE and REPLACE or just REMOVE this monstrosity NOW!

> the health care system that was intact before Obamacare was not so bad
The Democrat strategy:
- "We must create a national consensus that health care is a right, not a commodity; and that government must guarantee that right."
- "We must create a national consensus that the health care system is in crisis."
- "We need to systematically forge relationships with large sectors of the business/employer community."
- "We need to convince political leaders that they owe their elections, at least in part, to the groundswell of support of [sic] universal health care, and that they face political peril if they fail to deliver on universal health care in 2009."
- "We need not agree in advance on the components of a plan, but we must foster a process that can ultimately yield consensus."
The strategy was developed by Robert Creamer while in prison for bank fraud. He published it in his book "Listen to Your Mother: Stand Up Straight! How Progressives Can Win" (see page 545).
"To win we must not just generate understanding, but emotionfear, revulsion, anger, disgust" says Creamer.

The below is correct. You want the replacement plan in place ie passed by Congress and signed by POTUS before you dismantle Ocare. You need (60 votes = Dem senators) to pass the replacement plan to get to a floor vote. Those have to come from Dem Senators in Red states. And their constituents need to hammer them into voting for the replace plan. Won’t be easy but less painful than repealing w/o a replace plan and the parade of “hurt” citizens the Dems will lineup to tell how they have been wronged. It should be called “Replace and Repeal”. In fact, a good course, could be pass and sign into law the Replace Plan, do not repeal ACA, so those “hurt” citizens can stay on ACA, if they so desire or can no longer afford.

“*****President Donald Trump has repeatedly said he wants to repeal and replace the law at effectively the same time. To make that happen, lawmakers are accelerating the development of the replacement plan and slowing down the laws repeal.*****
Makes perfect sense to those of us who have a working relationship with complex planning.”

Yes. And reversing THAT is the best solution.
Never gonna happen though.

Very well stated. Wish I’d been that articulate in expressing that thought.

It’s disgusting to witness Republicans clamor how best to implement communists’ plans. They are astonishingly bereft of ideas or principles.

Yes, the Republicans can embrace communism in some of their ideals are but clueless on its implementation.
But of course, the best implementation of communism will fail. So at best, the GOP will come up with another tidy way to make things worse.

I seem to remember reading somewhere on FR that someone from one of the southern states had put together a detailed new plan and it was ready to go. This person was a former doctor and now was in a political position. Governor? Congressman? I can’t remember what it was. We wouldn’t hear repeal and replace at the same time if it wasn’t already set to go. Anyone else remember this?

Rush now makes it sound as if he supported Trump all along. Rush never endorses in the primary. Saying that clearly he preferred Cruz, even Rubio and he treated Trump supporters pretty shabby when they called in.
Rush did try to point other candidates to the reasons Trump was so popular in the hope, I think, that they would follow suit and lead the charge, they didn't, they lost.

I upgraded to unlimited data What carrier actually has unlimited data? I had the original unlimited data with AT&T but it certainly wasn't unlimited usable data. You never got a bill for going over because you actually couldn't go over when they throttled you down to txt message speed.

Incidentally Levin is now offering a week's free trial of his television program, an opportunity you can take to actually find out the truth about the matter, or you can simply turn away from the suggestion with some snide remark and remain ignorant. I subscribed to Levin before he went on air with the early signup discount. I can rarely get through a show because I can't get past the insults that always follow the praise.

What we are seeing is the slow but steady evolution of the presidency into a dictatorship IMHO. Have you been asleep for eight years?
