US hiring accelerates and more people begin looking for work

U.S. employers stepped up hiring last month, adding a healthy 227,000 jobs, and more Americans began looking for work, a sign that President Donald Trump has inherited a robust job market.

January's job growth was the best since September, and it exceeded last year's average monthly gain of 187,000, the Labor Department said Friday .

The unemployment rate ticked up to a still-low 4.8 percent from 4.7 percent in December. But the rate rose for an encouraging reason: More Americans started looking for work, though not all of them found jobs immediately. The proportion of adults who are either working or looking for work reached its highest point since September.

“Inherited a robust job market”

People have know since No. 9 that Trump, who campaigned for jobs job jobs, would be taking over in ten weeks. They didn’t just wait around unti Jan 20 to start looking and accepting offers

Trump is creating a robust job market and its genesis was in November

Well, if Obozo was such a job-creator, why did he wait until after the 2016 election to achieve this result? Perhaps, had this happened in 2014, Hillary wouldn’t have lost so badly.

You are absolutely correct. Had the situation been reversed and a new dem president, like Hillary, was taking over after a lackluster jobs era, they would be talking about how his/her taking office has given people “new hope”.

The genesis might even precede November. There were Trump supporters who supported his jobs program and believed he was going to win in November. (Admittedly, I was not one of them.)
