PBS Comes Under Fire For Anti-Gun, Anti-Campus Carry Film

PBS has produced a new short documentary called “Guns on Campus,” a look at campus carry at the University of Texas at Austin (UTA). The film is set to air in conjunction with another PBS short film called “Tower,” about the 1966 sniper attack at the University of Texas at Austin.

While the documentary is made out to be a fair and balanced reporting of the facts, Students for Concealed Carry (SCC) are claiming otherwise. According to the activist organization, PBS had very little interest in hearing the pro-campus carry stance.

“How does someone produce a documentary on Texas’ campus carry law and not involve the group responsible for virtually every pro-campus carry op-ed published in Texas during the past decade?” asked Michael Newbern, Students for Concealed Carry’s Assistant Director of Public Relations. “How do they not include the one group that ran a TV commercial supporting passage of the campus carry bill? It’s as if the film’s producers had no interest in the individuals and arguments that got the law passed in the first place.

So, are the words "under fire" a threat as seen by libs concerning pbs and it's liberal attack on a constitutional right? A grant from newtown or nannie bloomers? To Mr. Newbern of Students For Concealed Carry, this may come as a shock since I'm guessing you're young and possibly naive. The opposition doesn't give two craps about ANY input you might have to make. Their agenda is their agenda and you, you just sit down and be quiet. They'll deal with you later. Now, anyone else want to see your tax dollars yanked from pbs and npr?

The Tower is a well done documentary about the UT mass killing. Interviews many of those actually there.

The UT incident inspired a movie called Targets. Also worth seeing.

Like the UN, PBS has got to go. Barney and Big Bird are obsolete. “The churldren” are being taught in Headstart to question their gender now. They don’t give a sh*t about morons dressed up like chickens and dinosaurs.

Why do we have to subsidize an organization that produces propaganda with the intent take away our constitutional rights?

Ok, how does mentally ill Whitman sneaking in rifles while claiming to be a workman relate to concealed carry on campus?

Concealed carry is for the people a Whitman would encounter as he was starting his rampage. And assume campus had a strict no guns policy. Would Whitman have been foiled? It’s utterly childish.

Some gender studies professor said she couldn’t feel comfortable having a discussion with her class if there was concealed carry. So hey, how do you know? My brother asked whether I was carrying once and I told him that’s why they call it concealed. I don’t need to tell anyone except a police officer when I give him my CC card if I’m stopped for speeding. (I get stopped occasionally since I drive a little red sports car). So she’s scared that some big bad ass with a gun will shoot her? hmmm. It’s not going to happen but I’m sort of happy that she’s thinking about it. BTW, I’m a small old female. I was picked out in my CC class to demonstrate reasonable force... i.e. for me I can shoot just about anyone if I want.

I remember the 1966 UT massacre. I lived in Ft. Worth at the time and was 18 years old. In the documentary (which was rather cool) I was shocked at how passive everyone was. I mean this was Texas in the 60s!!! It was I think an hour before law enforcement went up to shoot him. It was almost that long before two men finally got the pregnant woman off the mall where she had been shot and her boyfriend filled. One woman went out first and just laid close to her and talked to her. She survived but lost the baby. But finally a civilian went in and up and found one cop who deputized him and then another cop showed up. It was a pretty simple operation after that. I could have done it. The first cop was off duty and he assumed that there was a perimeter and a headquarters. Neither existed so he decided to go up the tower himself and encountered the civilian. Another cop was already there but was afraid of going up the elevator. He later confessed it had greatly affected his life and he felt responsible for lives lost in the time he hesitated, including another cop. Anyway, fascinating study of human nature. Leads to the question would I get the girl or the cop?

Time to defund PBS, NPR and the rest of them from the federal budget.

So, with PBS show the moronic UT “Cocks not Glocks” protests with students wearing t-shirts with penises printed on them and handing out giant sex toys?

Even uber lib UT admits that less than 1% of the student body have license to carry.

Trump should stop all government funding of “the arts.”

If Trumps first annual budget includes one dime for PBS or NPR I will be very disappointed.

Sesame Street was creative and fun when it started but now it has become “Socialist Street”. It is nothing but propaganda and endless lectures on being nice and tolerant. Why should taxpayers have to foot the bill for this crap? Let PBS and NPR sink or swim on their own.
