If in the near future Erdogan is given total dictatoral power as he demands. What other groups will reach the same fate? And more quickly.

Make no mistake, Erdogan is an Islamist. He will not flinch at committing genocide. His recent mass arrest attest to that.

Very sobering thought for the US and NATO.

I believe that the Greeks are supposed to be guaranteed rights to live in Istanbul (Constantinople) by the agreement made in the 1920s where there was an exchange of populations--some Turks were allowed to stay in Greek Eastern Thrace as part of the deal. But I wouldn't expect Turkey to honor the agreement.

As for Asia Minor--the term Asia originally applied only to part of western Asia Minor and only later came to mean the entire continent.

The Hittite king Tudhaliya in the 14th century B.C. mentions the "Land of Assuwa"--Assuwa is probably an early form of the name Asia. It seems to have been located in western Asia Minor, the area that the Romans later called the province of Asia.

This does not bode well for the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Orthodox Ping!

Save Thy people, O Lord,
and bless Thine inheritance.
Grant victory to Thy Church over her enemies,
and protect Thy people by Thy Holy Cross!

And you know who spoke up for Erdogan and Turkey and whose company even lobbied for Turkey? Mike Flynn.

Article above is written by him, from the Hill, Nov. 8, 2016.

Reading the article has given me some doubts on him.

The filthy muslim Turk has been trying to squeeze Christians out of Constantinople and Anatolia for a very long time!!!!

Before the attacks against Michael Flynn, President Trump was putting together an alliance between the USA, Russia, and Turkey to destroy ISIS. I hope that that can be put back together again, and also used to get Turkey to behave itself, at least a little bit. Lord have mercy!!!!

The ancient Greeks were brilliant and fierce warriors. In one of the few times when they more or less pulled together they defeated the greatest empire ever known until then.

They seemed to just not be able to agree on anything. If some outside force had forced them to cooperate they could have conquered the world. I guess in a way that is what Phillip and Alexander did.

You are showing your ignorance. Many of the Greeks in Greece proper have become entitled, lazy weaklings. That has NOT happened to the remaining Greeks in Turkey.

At a minimum, Turkey allowed a lot of ISIS fighters and militia members to travel through their country, they probably could have stopped them with more security. This leaves questions open to gun running too.

Also, most likely, Turkey supported militias whom at a minimum were allied with the Al Qaeda affiliate in Syria.

Not exact accolades for Turkey but I do admit, one wonders what the real story is going on over there.

Looks like the upcoming election and constitutional amendment is the last chance for Turkey to avoid Islamist killing everyone else.

It has happened before. It can happen now. Erdogans action in Syria and Iraq indicate he will try.

I think God had a hand in our November election.

I think he is showing Erdogan he’s still in control in Syria. Al Bab is cutting him to pieces.

He cannot stand that the Kurd & some Arabs are doing pretty well so far in Raqqa. With out help.

Game is not over yet. We all know who wins in the end.
