Jared Kushner Reportedly Met With Senior Time Warner Executives to Complain About CNN’s Coverage

In recent months, President Donald Trump has taken pointed aim at CNN over what he feels is the network’s unfair and hostile coverage of him. Last month, following the cable news channel’s report on him being presented with a two-page synopsis on the infamous Russia dossier during an intel briefing, Trump started labeling CNN “fake news.”

Well, it now appears that the Trump administration is taking its complaints to CNN’s corporate bosses. According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump’s son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner met with a Time Warner executive to protest CNN’s reporting.

In a meeting at the White House, Mr. Kushner complained to Gary Ginsberg, executive vice president of corporate marketing and communications at CNN’s parent Time Warner, about what Mr. Kushner feels is unfair coverage slanted against the president, the people said.

The Trump administration’s hostile posture toward the news media, especially CNN, has been evident in the president’s own statements and those of his press secretary and top aides. On Thursday, Mr. Trump lashed into CNN once again at a news conference, calling it “very fake news” with expert commentary that is “almost exclusively anti-Trump.”

The WSJ story also stated that Kushner has been “pushing the issue” with other Time Warner execs, including CNN president Jeff Zucker.

During today’s press conference, Trump openly railed against CNN, specifically singling out anchor Don Lemon over what he felt was “hatred and venom” coming from the host’s mouth.

WHY does Trump have media press conferences..?

They’re fun, as Trump beats them up, sure, but...Trump has twitter and he wields it like an H-bomb.

From the tone I saw from the media questioners, it’s clear to me that REALITY has not caught up with them:

TRUMP DOES NOT **NEED** THEM.

I want to see them more fauning, I want to see them tread much more lightly. For now they seem not to understand their tenuous position.

They need to sit on the floor or something like that.

Not Comcast. AT&T. As soon as Trump approves the merger that will give the Time Warner Turner folks their golden parachutes.

You meant “Not Time Warner”, right?

Comcast has the NBC properties. Time Warner has CNN.

Good move, Jared. Go to ABC also and ask them why their commentators’ comments immediately after Trump’s swearing in ceremony, compared Trump to fascism during the Nazi era. The female commentator screwing up her nose and saying Trump’s emphasis on America First reminded her of Hitler.

Here's what reporterette and "republican strategist" Ana Navarro had to say in reply,

"Really, Little Jared complaining about me cuz I get under President Daddy-in-Law's skin? Oh, baby boy, I'm so sorry."

"Little boy Kushner, tough guy who's supposed to achieve Middle East peace, is complaining about me to CNN. Boo-hoo!"

First American Jewish President in the making. He’s 36 now. Within 20 years, it could be a very real possibility.

Good luck Jared!!!

What the Trump team fails to explain, it’s not fake news necessarily because it is a lie, it’s fake because it is incomplete.

If you tell a story, that is dramatic, effective and that the listener can emphasize with. Then leave it at that.

Example: a cop killing an unarmed teenager, but leave out that teenager had a replica gun drawn and had a rap sheet; you are telling fake news.

Not a lie, but as told; incomplete.

WHY does Trump have media press conferences..?

Because they represent a golden opportunity for the President to get his messaging out to the People directly, without the Media distorting what he says.

The Media can proceed to smear the President both before and after these events, but during them, the President has a captive audience, and even the Media has to shut up while he's talking.

Didn't you see how much yesterday's presser benefited the President? Didn't you notice how it allowed him to air his grievances with them and connect directly with the American people?

It was a beautiful thing to watch, and the President very effectively pointed out the Media's hypocrisy and double standard, using specific, irrefutable examples.

One such example was the anecdote about Hillary getting debate questions beforehand, and the President was spot on when he reminded the Media how they never even made an issue of it, whereas if he had been privy to such an advantage, it would have been a scandal of mammoth proportions broadcast 24/7/365.

Using that and other salient examples, the President nailed the Media to the wall, forcefully driving home the fact that they were and are a bunch of disingenuous hypocrites.

And then he twisted the knife a few times by reminding them all that the American people "get it", and are completely aware of the Media's shenanigans. He even pointed out how the Favorability Rating of the press was even lower than that of Congress!

The President also (again correctly) pointed out the overtly hostile, hateful, and unbalanced tone routinely maintained by outlets such as CNN.

The President's rebuke was stiff, effective, and richly deserved, and you can rest assured that the American people enjoyed it every bit as much as the Media didn't.

The President totally pwned these Media punks—make no mistake—but even more amazingly, he was conducting a charm offensive at the same time.

It was an incredible thing to see, and as long as this administration keeps its nose clean, so to speak, the Enemedia can anticipate being taken out to the woodshed repeatedly, until such time as a semblance of balance begins to appear.

To summarize: the President mopped the floor with these hypocritical clowns and made them look like the unfair, slanted fools that they truly are. It was a masterful performance, perfectly suited in both sty;e and tone to the era that we now live in.

If this press conference was any indication, the Press is in for a very rough ride over the next several years, because in an hour's time, the President completely obliterated the Media's Russian boogeyman canard, and at the same time excoriated them for their "fake news" and, quite simply, failing to do their jobs.

And what's happening, overwhelmingly, just like with Reagan, is that the citizenry is beginning to steadily align itself with the President and his administration, and against the Establishment, which of course includes the Media almost in its entirety.

Oh, there will always be a segment of die-hard nutcases among the minority population and the rabid ideologues, but the People are going to continue to drift towards the President by and large, as he learns how to use the "bully pulpit" ever more effectively.

This is why the Left is so hysterical, and it's also why the Left is bleeding support and alienating the common man ever more profoundly.

Combine this effort on the President's part with the ridiculous scenes of anarchy in the streets, violence against everyday Americans, unhinged protesters carrying vile signs, dressing like pussies, and waving foreign flags, and it's becoming very clear precisely who the real fascists and extremists are.

Faced with such start contrasts, who do you think the People are going to get behind?

The Establishment and Media (but I repeat myself) are losing. The Revolution, and the President who has become its standard-bearer, is winning.

This is a brutal game that both sides are playing, but I honestly don't think that things are going to end up the way the Democrats and the Establishment are envisioning.

The People have awoken, and they're not going back to sleep anytime soon.

The Left is so utterly bankrupt morally, so devoid of constructive ideas, and in such bitter, incredulous denial about their electoral repudiation, that the only thing they can be relied upon to do is to hysterically hasten their own demise.

It's going to be an ugly, cringe-worthy process, to be sure, and one which will infuriate and alienate many decent everyday Americans, but the positive end result will be that the Democrat party will be relegated to minority status for decades to come.

All that Revolution has to do is fiercely but calmly fight the good fight, defend this administration, and advocate for its constructive policies.

And the Loony Left will, for the most part, see to their own destruction by virtue of the fact that they will become despised by an overwhelming share of the American public.

Best. Revolution. Ever.

“it’s not fake news necessarily because it is a lie, it’s fake because it is incomplete.”

You hit the nail absolutely on the head with this one. This morning CNN is trumpeting that the FBI will not press charges against Flynn—like, what grounds would they possibly have to do that in the first place?

Also heard a commentator this morning state that Trump should be prepared to be watched closely when Trump was complaining about classified leaks—which obviously is not the same as complaining about being watched by the biased press. This is all insidious, and infuriating.
