Norma McCorvey, the Texas woman behind the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, died Saturday at an assisted-living facility in Katy. She was 69.

She died of heart failure, according to a journalist close to her.

McCorvey was 22 and unmarried when she unwittingly gained national fame as the pseudonymous lead plaintiff in the watershed Supreme Court ruling that allowed women to seek abortions in the first two trimesters of pregnancy.

McCravey never aborted any of her children and eventually converted back to Catholicism.

REQUIEM aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.

As far as Weddington, she may rot in Hell unless she repents.

How sad. She was young to be in assisted living.

She was used by the left like so many others. After Roe they had no use for her.

I seem to recall reading that she was an alcoholic at some point. Perhaps she damaged her liver.

I have met her several times. Took her to dinner in LA. Hired her to speak at two churches in Los Angeles. I am heart-broken over this. Norma tried so hard to reverse Roe v Wade, only to be told by the court that she didn’t have standing to challenge the damn decision rendered in her “name”.

Please, Mr. Sessions, carry her torch.

Thanks for your input. I feel very sad at her early demise. She tried very hard to right a wrong!

My wife and I met Norma at a pro-life conference at Focus on the Family in the late 1990s.

A lovely lady, completely used and then trashed by the abortion lovers.

I’m sure her conversion and testimony changed hearts and minds, even if she couldn’t change the law.
