Homeland Security Employees Locked Out Of Computer System

Before I even talk about DHS employees being locked out of the computer system…lets look back at a prior story on DHS.

A government watchdog agency is investigating allegations that Department of Homeland Security officials improperly attempted to breach the Georgia secretary of state’s internal elections network last year. In a Jan. 17 letter to Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, DHS Inspector General John Roth said his office was probing “a series of ten alleged scanning events of the Georgia Secretary of State’s network” that may have originated from DHS-affiliated IP addresses. DHS IG spokeswoman Erica Paulson confirmed the office has launched an investigation.

So when I found this story this morning about DHS employees being locked out of the computer system, I felt it could be related to the DHS hacking incident. At the time the State of Georgia reported this incident to DHS Director Jeh Johnson he made an excuse that an employee had made an error and cause the problem. We know that sounds fishy.

Georgia officials first went public with their allegations in December. According to a Dec. 8 letter from Kemp to then-Secretary Jeh Johnson, the state’s third-party cybersecurity provider detected a “large unblocked scan event” on the morning of Nov. 15, several days after the election. The alleged effort to penetrate the secretary of state’s firewall was traced back to an IP address at DHS’ Southwest D.C. office — and did not succeed in breaking through.

But DHS has argued that what Georgia detected was simply a contractor performing routine duties.

After a preliminary review of the incident, Johnson told Kemp that the workstation involved was used by a contractor with the Georgia-based Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC).

Can you just imagine, going into work, knowing you have a new boss and you can’t log on to your computer and you know what you have, what you have done, what you have saved???

OH MY GOSH, what if they find out I have this, I’m going to go to jail...and there is no one around now that can save me...

ROFL...don’t you just love it!!!

Curious - Did the attempted DHS hack of GA Board of Elections happen around the same time as HRC campaign saying that GA was in play?

“If the truth is ever found out we will see it was the dims who were trying to influence the election...not the Russians.”

You know those jackasses were up to no good. And the fact they immediately blamed Russia for Illary’s loss is a giant red flag implicating Democrats. They are notorious for blaming others for their own crimes... e.g., the rioting in Chicago when Trump had to cancel his campaign event. It was later discovered that the Clinton campaign paid for the agitators.

The original reporting on this indicates a technical problem in a few U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services offices.

Maybe someone on here has a link or something that could give us a timeline...

Any gov computers with a history of viewing porn should be an instant dismissal of the users.

Anyone using the DHS computers to try to view or impact elections should be a dismissal and trial by jury.

So instead of the Russians, should we be investigating the DHS and other American 3 letter agencies trying to help Clinton win the election?

Kemp writes: “On November 15, 2016, an IP address associated with the Department of Homeland Security made an unsuccessful attempt to penetrate the Georgia Secretary of State’s firewall. I am writing you to ask whether DHS was aware of this attempt and, if so, why DHS was attempting to breach our firewall.”

November 15 was a full week after the election.

The letter goes on say that the systems under attack contained the personal information of over 6.5 million Georgians, 800,000 corporate entities and over 500,000 licensed or registered professionals.

As far as I’m concerned, the DHS should not even EXIST. It, along with that damned TSA should not have even been created!

It was a do-gooder hasty response to terror that begged for an overwhelming military solution transposed into LESS freedom, less privacy and less security for our own citizens. IMO, it is a supreme all-time eff up of Republicans.

It was a nice idea, I guess (under honorable aegis) but under Obama, it became my personal equivalent of the KGB and/or STASI.

This country survived a long time without a Homeland Security or ‘Transportation Security” - a war with Britain, a war between the states, numerous foreign actions, a UN police action in Korea, Vietnam, GW1 and the subsequent GWOT efforts since then. Not a damn one of them required a Homeland or Transportation Security bureaucracy hell-bent on stealing freedom from its citizens.

Homeland security is millions of armed Americans free to carry; transportation security is a proven screening process that actually DOES profile. Accept that and let’s move on. I saw firsthand what Obama loaded the DHS and TSA with and it isn’t pretty, nor is it competent by any stretch of the imagination.
