Exactly the problem is the government backed student loans. Normal business would never be competitive or customer driven if ran the same way.

They might be forgiven, but odds are the forgiven amount will be taxable, then they’ll get a nice tax bill. And those they won’t forgive.
What government can “forgive” depends on what President Bernie, President Ellison, or President Hillary get away with eight years from now. President Trump has to (1) change facts on the ground so that they have no opportunity to make that big a jump (and similarly no opportunity to grant citizenship to a swarm of illegals), and (2) change the public mood so that voters recognize the cost to our children of the massive federal debt and are unwilling to impose more debt on our children just because it seems like a nice thing to do for people who were reckless with their own spending.
The same ones that think underwater gender weaving is a course of studies for a prosperous future.
They signed contracts, and if this is indentured servitude, then it is not half as bad as those who attend college on ROTC scholarships, or the service academies, where they are required to serve 5 to 7 years - in combat zones.
Why? The snowflakes have plenty of money for “smartphones”, to donate to Planned Parenthood, to donate to the Muzzie run “ACLU”, to donate to the DNC, for “spring break”. “What the....?”

In fact, those people who advocate tweaking the Constitution of The United States are the ones who appeal to the segment of the population that is not well capitalized. Just take a look at the Democrat's propaganda narrative.

And then there is Donald Trump. He caused so much trouble for the "deep state" because he had his own private wealth! He depended on no one! Trump was probably the first genuine "freeman" to run for the office, in decades.
I thought this 40 years ago.
Just paid interest for awhile.
I was wrong.
Our son attended some of the premier universities in the
world, including Oxford. By the time he got to Oxford, we
were about tapped out & he took on responsibility for his
college education.
He came out of it with a monster debt. I told him that
paying it off would be like eating an elephant - ONE BITE
AT A TIME. . but that paying his debts was the only
honorable thing to do.
Ever hear of the Dhimmocratic party?
Ya think they will EVER get back into power some day? (I do!)
Then—these kids are right.
Tough toenails for those who pay the bills.
I think they should sue their schools to get their money back. Make it a class action.
