Donald Trump has so outplayed the Pelosi & Schumer's looney left that all they can do is put SMALL minded cheap STUNTS that pander to their dumbed down shrinking constituency.

"The FOOL says in his heart, there is NO GOD"....and that's what the anti-God, pro-abortion, pro-global socialist, anti-police, pro-Allah, anti-American crowd are showing themselves be.

That’s all they can do....President Trump will be the best President the United States ever experienced....(and the lib-FOOLS will never know it)

I’ve heard several say that Dems were responding to the speech they thought Trump would make, rather than the actual speech. If so, way to go Dems, always behind the curve!

Democratic Gov. Steven Beshear must have been resurrected from an old age home to give the Dem’s rebuttal to President Trumps extraordinary triumphant speech? Those watching same probably wonder who in blazes is this poor old clown?

The response perfectly represented the Democrat Party — old man, backward looking, and standard talking points.

They obviously should have gone with the “white and nerdy” response instead.

I think someonne nailed it last night: the DEM response was prepared as a rebuttal to a speech that Trump didn’t give.

Just hilarioud that they’d turn to a FORMER Gov. who got beat as their spokesperson. A loser.

Interesting that the dems chose a FORMER governor to give their response. This means two things.

First, he had nothing to loose. If they had put up a sitting official they might have said something that would either alienate their fanatical leftist base or that could be used against them in future campaigns. This suggests the dems KNOW their views are not well aligned with the American public.

Second, they don't have that many sitting governors to send out.

I thought the Democrats were going to have two responses to Trump’s speech, one by Bashear and one in Spanish by a DACA recipient.

"The Democratic bench is so depleted they've turned to a 72-year-old former governor with absolutely no political future to give their prime-time response," Reed said a statement. "They literally have no rising up-and-comer to elevate. Out-of-power, leaderless, and in the midst of a raging ideological civil war, 2017 is truly a sad time to be a Democrat."

The Democrats have up and coming stars that they might have showcased. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker come to mind. Barring indictment, at least one and very possibly both of them will be on a national ticket within the next three cycles. But for purposes of this speech, the Democrats' problem was that they've painted themselves so deep into the identity politics ghetto, and so thoroughly alienated white voters in the process, that they have no plausible national candidate who can appeal across ethnic lines.

It's pathetic for the Democrats, who are a coalition of color and proud of it, and who boast about the rise of the minority/youth alliance, to resuscitate an old white guy and put him in a room full of mostly old white guys, with not a single Asian or woman of color, not a single hispanic, not a single college activist type, and only one sort-of black guy. It would be difficult to find a group less representative of what the democratic party looks like today.

I’d imagine the dems probably had two responses in the wings. Someone with political “gravitas” in the unlikely event President Trump dropped the ball...and then there was this guy with nothing to lose.
