Michael Savage Following Alleged Assault: ‘It Is Clearly Open Season on Prominent Trump Supporters’
Breitbart ^ | 03/16/17 | AARON KLEIN

“It is clearly open season on prominent Trump supporters,” talk radio star Michael Savage told Breitbart News one day after he was reportedly allegedly assaulted at a restaurant in Tiburon, California. Savage, who has been credited with aiding President Donald Trump’s election, said that he was not able to comment on the specific alleged incident. His attorney told the news media that Savage was verbally taunted and then assaulted by a restaurant patron.

Speaking generally, Savage told Breitbart News on Thursday:

It is clearly open season on prominent Trump supporters. The fascist left has been empowered by their own false narrative that those who support borders, language and culture – my motto – are evil fascists! This is how Hitler came to power. He used his brown shirts to beat any opponents. The media and police are almost wholly driven by this lie.

The Daily Mail reported on the alleged incident, citing Savage’s attorney, Daniel Horowitz:

Michael Savage, the 74-year-old host of the nationally syndicated talk radio show Savage Nation, was dining solo at Servino Ristorante in Tiburon, with his toy poodle, Teddy, keeping him company, when another patron allegedly began taunting him by saying, ‘weener, weener.’

The heckler was apparently referring to Savage’s legal name, Michael Alan Weiner.

As Savage was heading out the door, the verbal abuse allegedly turned physical when the jeerer knocked the septuagenarian to the ground, according to the talk show host’s attorney, Daniel Horowitz.

I’m not a big fan of Savage but this is despicable and frightening.

Someone needs to visit this perp and “frighten” him a little bit.

I don’t know where this country is going. I see the maniacs have taken over, hollowing out all our great institutions replacing it with brute force. And they call us Nazis!

I have had many sharp criticisms of savage over the years I take none of them back however this narrative sounds legit.

The San Francisco Bay Area makes great hay out of the whole concept of Tolerance, yet if they detect even for one second that you disagree with them about something important, then they will not hesitate to make your life hell.

That’s even if you are nobody.

if you are famously Conservative then I’m sure they would one-sidedly instigate all kinds of stuff against you.

That probably goes double over the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge in tony Tiburon, where lots of homos like to go to get drunk at a picturesque restaurant.

So, when is somebody going to do something about this???

I’m just so sick of this. Nothing is being done to protect the people who voted for Donald Trump. The surest way to lose the next election is to stand by and watch the people who voted for you get beaten in the streets.

This brings home a good lesson:

the people who talk most about transparency are hiding the most stuff and the people who loudly shriek about the need for tolerance don’t actually practice tolerance themselves.

“”As Savage was heading out the door, the verbal abuse allegedly turned physical when the jeerer knocked the septuagenarian to the ground...”...

It sounds like Savage did not pick a fight. He was trying to get away from the a@@*ole when he was attacked. Assaulting a septugenarian as he is trying to get away is pretty low.

Savage got the poop kicked out of him; Roger Stone gets T-boned...it’s not just because people don’t like President Trump, it’s because some people don’t want these people to expose what they know...

Not in Texas. Very foolish thing to do. If you have to put up with that garbage, move.

Undefendable behavior against an unhinged mercurial gasbag and phony conservative. He probably provoked the jerks.

Michael, get yourself a gun.

The 2nd Amendment is virtually null and void in California, where Savage lives. Exercise of that basic human right in California will most likely put you in prison.

I would like to know a bit more also. The article points out that they both made citizen's arrests against each other and the police let them go pending further investigation.

If the jeering patron was much younger than Savage and made a "citizen's arrest" it would be for a misdemeanor, PC 242. However, due to the age of Savage, if he made a citizen's arrest of the other man, he could be making a citizen's arrest for a misdemeanor, PC 242, but also a FELONY, PC 368 (elder abuse). The police could have made an arrest of the patron on probable cause for PC 368. This could come back to haunt them.

4.5. PC 368 elder abuse

Penal Code 368 PC, California's elder abuse law , makes it a crime to willfully or negligently impose unjustifiable physical pain and/or mental suffering on a person who is 65 or older.

If are accused of committing a battery against a victim who is 65 or older, you could be charged with both Penal Code 242 and Penal Code 368.

This offense is a wobbler, carrying a potential state prison sentence of two (2), three (3) or (4) years, and a fine of up to six thousand dollars ($6,000), if it is charged as a felony

PC 368 elder abuse

Another thing the attorney for Savage could look at is Penal Code 142a.

(a) Any peace officer who has the authority to receive or arrest a person charged with a criminal offense and willfully refuses to receive or arrest that person shall be punished by a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170, or by both that fine and imprisonment.

California Penal Code Section 142

There is that possibility, though not assured by any means
esp. in Marin.
