Actually, Muslims are less than 50% of the population of Bosnia although Bosnian Muslims (Bosniaks) are the largest single group. The Bosniaks may be about 48% of the total but the World Almanac puts the Muslim percentage at 40%...probably a lot of nominal adherents of the three major faiths (Islam, Orthodox Christianity, Catholicism) after decades of Communist anti-religious indoctrination and the general European trend towards secularization.
