THIS IS THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S8, COMING APRIL 21ST
The Verge ^ | March 29, 2017 | Dieter Bohn

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the nicest phone I’ve ever held. It’s a beautiful combination of glass, metal, and an absolutely massive screen in a body that’s much smaller than you might expect.

And that might not be enough to make it stand out anymore.

There are two versions of the S8: the standard Galaxy S8 with a 5.8-inch screen and the larger S8 Plus with a 6.2-inch screen. Both are available for preorder on March 30th and will be shipping in the US on April 21st. Pricing, as always with Samsung, is up to the carriers — but you can expect them to command a premium price. The early word is that it will start at $720.

Here’s everything we learned about these two phones after using them for an hour or two last week.

I'm hoping T-Mobil offers it BOGO again this year as they did with the S7 last year. I need new cellphones for my wife and me.

the note 7 was simply a phone sent from heaven. I curse the 20 people that burned their sh*t down because they didn’t know how to charge a phone, and thereby cost the other 3.5 million of us the best phone ever created.

Tomorrow T-Mobile starts taking pre-orders on this. I sure hope they have the same BOGO offer as last year.

All I want to know is if the battery is user servicable.

I have a Galaxy S5 (yah...I know! I know!) that I really like.I'm certainly no tech geek (I long for the days of dial telephones) but it does everything I want it to do...and more.I suppose my attitude might be different if I was some giant of industry sending, and receiving, thousands of messages a day.But I'm not.

I need a phone with memory for lots of aps, specifically coupon apps. With those, I can earn more money back monthly than the monthly payments for the phone so it pays for itself. I also like the feature of using the phone to pay bills at cashier terminals.

I agree about the S5. It does everything I need and it has a removable battery. That is a plus for me

BUT: Once you try an Apple iPhone, you won’t ever go back.

With phone apps such as Checkout 51 and Ibotta, you will get monthly payments back from your purchases which can cover the payments for the phone. Right now I have Target’s Cartwheel but not enough memory left on my too basic phone for more apps.

Coworker told me they’re also fixing and selling the Note 7s. Any truth to that? I haven’t been able to find anything.

Once you try an Apple iPhone, you won’t ever go back.

That is false.

LOL, I have a Nokia 3585 that is 18 years old.
I like my dumb phone, it doesn’t spy on me.

Galaxy Note 7 broke basic engineering rules, says damning new report

This report says the issue was a design flaw that too tight a battery compartment put pressure on the battery.

It wasn't user charging error.

I’m with you I still have a S5 and I just recently bought a high capacity battery for it as the original battery wasn’t holding a charge for very long. It’s like I have a new phone again and I might check out the Galaxy S12 or whatever it will be and hopefully by then they will once again offer a removable battery. I don’t care about it not being fully waterproof as I don’t swim with my phone or text while under water.
