Rand Says Congress ‘Should Think About’ Whether It Should Send Money to 'Universities...
Breitbart ^ | April 27, 2017 | Ian Hanchett

On Thursday’s broadcast of “The Laura Ingraham Show,” Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) said, “I think that Congress, and the people who appropriate the money, we should think about whether or not we should be sending money to universities that only have one set of speech.”

When asked if he thought the “federal government, Donald Trump” could “impound” funds that would go a place like UC-Berkeley, Rand answered, “I think if it were a liberal president, and they were shutting down speech, they could probably do it. I don’t think that — I don’t think impounding funds is probably going to pass muster, but I think that Congress, and the people who appropriate the money, we should think about whether or not we should be sending money to universities that only have one set of speech.”

absolutely

and it doesn’t have to be the federal govt only either

Conservative run states should require universities to be politically neutral if they want state government funds.

end all Federal involvement in Student loans and aid to universities.

government is creating a generation of debt serfs, beholden and tied to government, who are being taught to love their master.

If someone did attempt to defund these indoctrinating college campuses, he/she would be attacked as being “anti-education.”

I couldn’t agree more - they have become nothing more than madrasses for the left. They are at the leading edge of our ongoing cultural rot.

anti-education.....that’s is what the professors are teaching. If a student doesn’t have the same beliefs of a program, as the professor, the student is removed from the class or flunks the course. WHERE, OR WHERE are the parents of these young people? Don’t they know what kind of BRAINWASHING is going on at the universities, or do they care?

This is not an “anti-education” issue. This is a “fairness” issue.

Why should “grants” be given to America’s richest colleges at all?

It is entirely possible that institutions depriving conservatives of their civil rights (and those harboring academics making death threats), may have committed federal offenses, including, but not limited to:

<><> Title 18 U.S.C. §1341, Mail Fraud, 18 U.S.C.§1001, Presenting a False Document to an Agent of the US Government for funding (may involve several felonies and could include forgery);

<><> 18 U.S.C.§1027 False statements and concealment of facts in relation to funding documents required by ERISA enacted 1974 and other possible offenses including civil and/or criminal RICO violations.

<><> 18 U.S.C. §§1961-68 (RICO Act)18 U.S.C. §1001 (making false Statements to Agents of the US Government regarding federal funding),

<><> 18 U.S.C. §241(Conspiracies Against Civil Rights). Violation of Civil Rights under Color of law and conspiracy. Conspiring with others to violate conservative students’ 4th amendment rights.

<><> Possibly full investigations centering on RICO conspiracies under 18 U.S.C. §1962(c) could be warranted because (1) the persons (2) were employed by or associated with a federally funded enterprise (3) that engaged in or affected interstate commerce and that (4) the persons operated or managed the enterprise (5) through a “pattern” (6) of racketeering activity, and (7) the taxpayers were injured by reason of the “pattern” of racketeering activity.

<><> Alleged Offenses could include Violation of Rights – which prohibits in relevant part, “two or more persons (from conspiring) to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District

<><> Title 18 U.S.C. §2 41 – Conspiracy Against Constitutional mandates in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of having so exercised the same . . .” See, 18 U.S.C. §241.

There is no thinking about it - NO. These irresponsible universities and their misinformed bratty students are not to get one penny of our money for their disrespect of others.

And let’s seriously curtail “research grants.” My belief, based on some of the hair-brained titles I’ve seen on research grants, it that they have devolved into just another way to funnel the unsuspecting taxpayer’s hard-earned dollars into places that are infested with Liberal “professors” who actually use the bulk of the money for other purposes. I am sure we can all do without “Understanding The Sex Habits of the South African Tree Frog.” or even “Why Stupid People are Poor.” Some things are unworthy of the money, and others are just plain dumb. Besides, grant money is double dipping for college professors who are already being paid far more than they are worth.

If the federal government ceased to fund the university social sciences and education departments academics would consider it a catastrophe. And if, for example, the government ceased funding the science labs (Sandia, Livermore, etc.,) the eschatologists would attack the government like the Romans attacked Masada.
