Flashback 1993: DEFIANT F.B.I. CHIEF REMOVED FROM JOB BY THE PRESIDENT (Clinton fires Sessions)
NY Times ^ | July 20, 1993 | DAVID JOHNSTON

Posted on 05/09/2017 4:32:55 PM PDT by Dave346

President Clinton today dismissed William S. Sessions, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who had stubbornly rejected an Administration ultimatum to resign six months after a harsh internal ethics report on his conduct.

Mr. Clinton said he would announce his nominee to replace Mr. Sessions on Tuesday. He was expected to pick Judge Louis J. Freeh of Federal District Court in Manhattan; officials said Judge Freeh had impressed Mr. Clinton favorably on Friday at their first meeting.

Mr. Clinton, explaining his reasons for removing Mr. Sessions, effective immediately, said, "We cannot have a leadership vacuum at an agency as important to the United States as the F.B.I. It is time that this difficult chapter in the agency's history is brought to a close."

But in a parting news conference at F.B.I. headquarters after Mr. Clinton's announcement, a defiant Mr. Sessions -- his right arm in a sling as a result of a weekend fall -- railed at what he called the unfairness of his removal, which comes nearly six years into his 10-year term.

"Because of the scurrilous attacks on me and my wife of 42 years, it has been decided by others that I can no longer be as forceful as I need to be in leading the F.B.I. and carrying out my responsibilities to the bureau and the nation," he said. "It is because I believe in the principle of an independent F.B.I. that I have refused to voluntarily resign."

Mr. Clinton said that after reviewing Mr. Sessions's performance, Attorney General Janet Reno had advised him that Mr. Sessions should go. "After a thorough review by the Attorney General of Mr. Sessions's leadership of the F.B.I., she has reported to me in no uncertain terms that he can no longer effectively lead the bureau."

Good catch. Scratch that. Great catch.

Did you see the Krauthammer quotes on this? Something about it never happening before.

But it’s okay when a Democrat does it.

I sometimes wonder about Krauthammer, for example what he might know about pizzagate.

Firing Comey was a great move by Trump.

And what did Chuckie say back in Nov. 2016 about Comey?
What was that? Lost confidence in Comey? Karma’s a bitch.

Interesting that Clinton had his replacement lined up, and Trump’s team says they are going to begin the search now.

Another small difference - Clinton fired based on the recommendation of his AG. Trump did it based on recommendations from both his AG and Deputy AG.

Some things change, but a lot of things remain the same as 24 years ago.

Also funny to note how the NY Times portrayed the situation, the “Defiant FBI director” was the one who had to be at fault, not the POTUS.

You miss Democrats caring about the seriousness of the charges too, huh?

“But it’s okay when a Democrat does it.”

bold this, highlight it, put it in lights, and whatever else comes to mind because THIS is the left.

They are the enemy of the constitution and we need to treat them as such.

There’s a real truth deficit with much of the media in the era of Trump, isn’t there!

Heard that he was supposed to testify to Congress on Thursday (I think) about the Russian investigation?

Good catch because it shows that Session knows EXACTLY how the FBI should work.

Never happened before?

It has happened so often that the norm is that the president replaces the FBI director.

Since Hoover we have had one director die in office, one serve out his term and get a two year extension and the rest have been fired.

This is an interesting detail, which I did not notice at the time.

On Saturday, after weeks of fruitless discussions, Ms. Reno finally told Mr. Sessions that he must resign by today or face dismissal. Upon leaving that meeting, Mr. Sessions tripped and fell, breaking his arm, which forced him to spend that night in a hospital.

Tripped and fell, eh?

Krauthammer is a fraud.....I knew it YEARS ago when he was so sympathetic to the irrational, vile, filthy behaviors of sodomy and “for” “homosexual” “marriage”-—an irrational satanic vice which destroys civil society and logic and reason and virtue in all little kids raised in a culture which promotes two males (or more) sodomizing each other and denies little babies their natural parent. It is EVIL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL and Krauty knows it, but he was allowed his “fame” because they have DIRT on him-—like all those who MSM “loves”. He is part of the Hegelian Dialect—only he proved he was a Satanist by his love of sodomy a few years ago.

Something is seriously evil and vile about people who promote such an irrational, filthy, vice which is learned by child abuse, in a “Justice” System since Montesquieu so clearly stated that for a free, just Republic, all “Just Law” has to be “Right Reasoned” and promote public VIRTUE only..

Homosexual “marriage” is to destroy the possibility of a Christian Worldview in all children-—the ONLY one which is the BASIS of the USA which ended slavery and pederasty and incest in “cultures” and the basis for Natural Law Theory/Lockean philosophy and our Constitution and entire “Justice” (virtue) system. Skull and Bones—freemasons all are into sodomizing others and like Milo-—they learned to “LOVE” being raped as little boys.

Fascinating how easily seduced these guys are by the outright sophomoric quality of the Hegelian Dialectic concept. Comey, who lives and breathes the HD, appears to have suffered the onset of something like proteinatious plaques or neurofibrillary tangles as a result of his Hegelian pursuits. Or perhaps the plaques and tangles were a preexisting condition, and explain Comey’s susceptibility to the employment of such a mediocre philosophical construct as the Hegelian Dialectic.
