Last week, I wrote an article titled The Ferguson Effect: Baltimore Millennials’ Worst Nightmare. The Ferguson Effect is a theory where the increased scrutiny of police post 2014 death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and Trayvon Martin in Florida will lead to higher crime rates. Baltimore is turning this theory into a reality, as the city descends into chaos before summer start. According to The Baltimore Sun Newspaper, the city has logged in 118 homicides today with the projection of >400 murders for year’s end. It’s so bad here that Baltimore’s Mayor has asked the Federal Government for help in attempt to regain control. Even the police union sounds the alarm of an officer shortage leading to decrease in patrols. All of this is occurring as the Baltimore population declines, nearing a 100-year low, U.S. Census says.

Requirement that officers ‘rat out’ their fellow officers or they can be found equally responsible (fired).
So the officers sit back and wait for bodies to pile up before they show up.

While I am a big supporter of law enforcers, there is a problem with the 'brotherhood' mentality amongst them. They break laws and let each other go while enforcing the same laws against the general public.
I've seen this first hand as I have several members of the 'brotherhood' in my own family.

reminds me of Stockholm Effect also NOT a psycho/medical term but ONLY a term originated by the media prior to the Patty Hearst fiasco— a social/ media engineering...that worked... so why not now try The ferguson effect to have it appear as another BS look-alike BS science/proven whatever, but really just another lefty crappola gotcha-22!

A modern belief that police agencies of government should do all the guarding of society has doubtless added to the arrogance. “They have no fear of God before their eyes.” And the fear of God doesn’t merely suppress sin. It also moves to boldness.
The consent decree they signed last year to bind Baltimore cops from fighting crime should help.
Obama is written all over it.
And their order to ignore those caught committing crimes if they are illegal.

In many Black neighborhoods, it looks like the police are the only ones maintaining civilization.
So it turns out the cops weren’t such a bad idea, and really weren’t such a big part of the urban death rate.
It is not Baltimore that is erupting. And there is a certain demographoc that is leaving and the criminality has nothing to do with the population decline.
