Former Sen. Tom Coburn reiterated his calls for an Article V Convention to rein in the federal government.
Mr. Coburn first proposed the Article V convention idea when he was still in the Senate, but the idea has started to get traction with 12 states signing on to be part of it.
The proposal aims to re-balance the branches of government and the federal and state governments as well. An Article V Convention can be invoked when two-thirds of state legislatures call to change the Constitution.

IF Tom Coburn would but read the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution he would find that they already do limit federal power.
Why is that I can never find a Con Con Conner that can answer one very simple question, “Exactly what is you want to change and why?”

In your opinion. IMO and in the opinion of many others who agree with me, the US Constitutions is fatally flawed. The 16th and 17th amendments destroyed the US Constitution and federalism. Art V could correct that.
The Second Amendment of the US Constitution is NOT going to do you any good if the USA keeps going down the path of socialism. A Constitution that is not followed or flawed is worse than no Constitution at all. As it stands now the Constitution is just a fig leaf for the state-ist to hide behind while they nakedly destroy the USA.
Constitutionally undefined federal agencies like the EPA, IRS, etc. can disappear too.
And the repeal amendment for 16 & 17 can compliment the 10th Amendment in the following way. The repeal amendment should include a provision that requires presumed guilt of unconstitutional expansion of federal government powers for any federal government action and legislation that are questionable under any of the powers that the states have expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds.

In fact, since corrupt Congress cannot be trusted to police itself with respect to making legislation that is reasonably based on powers which the states have expressly constitutionally delegated to Congress, the states need to constitutionally require Congress to reference specific constitutional clauses in all legislation to reasonably justify the legislation, regardless if one House chooses not to pass the legislation.
The state legislatures need to give themselves the same constitutional authority to collectively exercise the same powers of impeachment and removal from federal office that Congress has, including removing lawmakers from office.
Also the clarification of Congress’s limited power to appropriate taxes by a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting Supreme Court justices needs to be enumerated in the Constitution.

I've got a few answers:
interstate commerce clauseis literally part of the same clause regarding commerce with foreign nations, so asserting that powers regulating interstate commerce applies to commerce within the state is to assert that the international commerce can regulate the commerce inside that foreign nation: this would be, at best, laughed to scorn internationally... at worst a declaration of war or subjugation of a conquered state.
This crap will go the same way of the Equal Rights Amendment and the Fairtax movement...nowhere.
Do you know how many states have to approve anything coming out of a Convention of States? No. The answer is 3/4 or 38 states. Unless you are a disturbed individual and believe that the Illuminati control the world, 38 states are not going to vote to eliminate/modify the 2nd amendment.
Well since we can’t get any one in congress or the senate to really put forth amendments for a course correction, then it is up to the states to propose those type of amendments through the Article V convention.
I don’t understand why the few democrat controlled states don’t jump on the Article V bandwagon. This would give us 2 things; 1) get the necessary 33 states for the convention and 2) give them the opportunity to propose their changes to the electoral college. Once the 33 states are reached I’m sure the remaining 17 states would sign on and then of course the republican controlled states can shoot that down and propose some amendments that are necessary.
