Maybe the most laughable reaction to Donald Trump's pulling out of the Paris climate accord came from European and Chinese leaders who blasted Trump and America for "surrendering its world leadership" role. The sanctimonious leaders of Asian and European nations pledged to move full speed ahead on clean energy without the United States. Be my guest.
But we've been to this movie before. The Europeans were all in on the Kyoto Protocol deal back in 2005 -- an international treaty the U.S. rightly rejected. Euroland promised a massive shift to green energy and to abandon fossil fuels to dramatically reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. But guess what? The green energy revolution was a bust. None of these countries came close to meeting those targets. Now these nations, especially Germany, are moving away from the saintly clean energy sources.
They say they are solemnly committed to a new treaty -- but if they violated the last one, why would we believe them now?

When a society reaches the point where it has the highest standard of living in the history of mankind, it basically runs out of things to produce and sell to its people. So the only way to facilitate economic activity is to use the rule of law to compel people to buy things they don't really need (solar power, windmills, ObamaCare, U.S. Congressmen, etc.) -- even if the laws and regulations are based entirely on bullsh!t that doesn't stand up to any scrutiny.
All of the world’s leaders need to get on their jet planes and fly to a distant locale to discuss this... :-)
It’s taken twenty years to figure out the green jobs thing. You have one smart PhD guy who develops an idea and needs capital to mass produce. Twenty years ago, he’d get venture capitalists. So they launch production, and sell the product. Chinese guys would examine the product and make the 90-percent solution...then sell it for half the price. PhD guy and his venture capital team would be run out of business within seven years of starting production. The 2,000 jobs created? They dissolved.
So in the past decade, without venture capitalists (it’s too stupid to get into this)...the PhD guys went to governments. They had no reason to get into this game but did it anyway. So the new production company comes out....hires 2,000 new folks, and the Chinese folks examine the product and repeat the process again. Company goes under.
The government will tell you that one-million green jobs have been created in twenty years. Fine, of the million...probably only 300,000 still exist...the rest went through a cycle of employment, and unemployment.

Earth climate and changes are dependent on Sun’s and Sunspots activity supplying 99.99% of energy. Humans can do schit about it.
Volcano eruptions can produce much more distractions to climate than all humans and SUVs farting together.
CO2 is not poison, it is “food” for plants, which in turn produce Oxygen, that we need to breathe.

Please, please, please President Trump. Make it up to the Chinese by asking them to build their own version of the UN headquarters building in Beijing.
Tell them that the US will support moving the UNHQ there, lock, stock and barrel of monkeys. So that China can show the world how great China is.
Because those delegates will get along *great* with the ultra-prudish Chinese.
If they bite, and the UN takes off, then bulldoze the current UNHQ to the ground, have it blessed by Rabbis, then dumped in the Hudson Valley canyon, taking the rubble to the deepest part of the Atlantic off the East Coast.
