President Trump’s legal team and political allies have launched a preemptive strike against special counsel Robert Mueller.
Trump’s backers are furious about a story that appeared Wednesday in the Washington Post, in which five anonymous sources alleged that the president is the target of an obstruction of justice investigation for allegedly trying to bury an FBI probe into his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn.
The timing of that story, which was published on Trump’s birthday and a week after the White House believed the president had moved beyond allegations of election collusion with Russia, was viewed by Trump’s allies as evidence that the story was planted by law enforcement officials to ensure a shadow of suspicion would remain.
It is unclear whether the Post story was leaked by the special counsel, the FBI, former FBI director James Comey and his allies, or witnesses that have been contacted by those law enforcement agencies as part of the investigation.
Many legal experts suspect the leaks didn’t come from the special counsel or from current or former FBI officials, but rather from those who have been reached for questioning as part of the probe — or their staffers.
“The Special Counsel’s Office has undertaken stringent controls to prohibit unauthorized disclosures that deal severely with any member who engages in this conduct,” Mueller spokesman Peter Carr told The Hill. That hasn’t been enough to stop a barrage of attacks against the special counsel and Mueller, the lead investigator, who otherwise enjoys the confidence of lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. Trump should have tweeted that he was disappointed in Mueller, that he was hoping that the ‘illegal leaks and false stories’ coming from government employees ‘working for him’ would end when Mueller replaced Comey.
One doesn’t have to be a Trump ally to take note of Mueller’s close relationship to Comey, and the political appointments he’s making to his investigative team.
This is a legalized Leftist witch hunt staring prominent Democrats being given power way beyond their station in life.
Mueller and Rosenstein need to feel some heat...Rosenstein may already be aware of the heat coming from his recent “cautions” about fake news and rumors of him possible “washing his hand” by recusing himself....

I suspect most of what we're seeing from these "inside sources" is no more accurate than anything else we've seen from the New York Times, CNN, etc. over the last six months.
I can think of 2 reasons for Mueller to be adding staff:
1. More work to do.
2. Someone has imposed a time limit.
Everybody is assuming #1. It could be #2. The year-long investigation may have finally been slapped with a Drop Dead Date.
Funny how everyone forgets that this scumbag douchebag piece of crap Robert Mueller was practically the third Boston bomber. He and Jaime Gorelick should be sharing a prison cell.

Trump really needs to take a differnet tack. The FBI was clearly leaking while also holding everyone to a high standard where they were concerned. When the FBI publicly ruins someone like Flynn who talked to the Russians but did not do anything illegal. So it seems that its OK to ask that they exonerate him quickly if they do not find anything wrong. They did so with Hillary. So why not Flynn.
Also, Obama was able to get a report about Russia, a report about the IRS, a report about Benghazi in about two months. So why isn’t it reasonable to ask for an end to this witch hunt. If the FBI could really probe all those in two or three months why is this one never ending. The president does have the right to demand equal treatment from the FBI.
This is a good sign IMO. But I wonder just exactly what Trump’s team can do legally to fight Mueller. Is it possible to get this into Federal Court and demonstrate that Mueller should be instructed to cease and desist, and be removed from this investigation because of a colossal conflict of interest? Assuming of course, that Trump’s team can get a fair hearing in any given Federal Court.

Hire Newt, and activate Steve Bannon. Had President Trump kept closer company with Steve Bannon from the start, most of this would probably not have occurred.

also i would insist on being able to hold a press conference after being called to testify. then i would lie during the press conference. like the dems do.
