The American Civil Liberties Union launched a vocal opposition this week against a Maine bill criminalizing female genital mutilation (FGM), Mainely Media reports.
Republican Rep. Heather Sirocki is sponsoring the bill, saying that it would classify performing FGM as a Class B crime in the state, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. The bill would also punish the parent or guardian of the victim.
However, the Maine ACLU staunchly opposes the protection.

The bill fell short by a vote of 76-71.
The ACLU doesn’t have A CLUE.
Only sadists would support FGM.

That is what an honest headline would say.

And yet, queers in the military or in prison can force the tax payer to pay for theirs along with a lifetime supply of steroids to fit their new “gender.” And, some of these twisted freaks are judges, sitting on a high bench to judge others.

I know it’s a delicate subject to talk about, but we should do so, so that people are aware.
This is not a procedure which corresponds to a circumcision.
This is amputation of the clitoris and labia.
It is rightly called mutilation. Some news organizations won’t call it mutilation. They use other words, some just describing as a nondescript procedure.

I do know what it is, but thank you for spelling it out. Many who read here may not know what it’s really about.
My personal opinion is that both practitioners and defenders of the practice should be dragged out into the town square and broken on the wheel.
These people are not right.
But these same defenders of female genital mutilation, succeeded in criminalizing therapy that would successfully treat homosexuals who wanted to be straight instead.
What a world these people live in! I wish they weren’t trying to make me live in it, too.

Oh, you can bet the farm that they do. But the ALCU opposes everything that is good and decent on general principles.

Is this stance of the ACLU consistent with how they feel about male circumcision? If not, well.....
