The Chicago Police Department says it is conducting "a very comprehensive review" after the city experienced one of its most violent Fourth of July weekends in recent years, with at least 101 people shot between late Friday afternoon and early Wednesday.
"We're doing a debriefing," said chief police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. "The mood here is frustration."
The review will include an analysis of how "amateur fireworks" might have affected the ShotSpotter system, which captures audio of gunfire and attempts to pinpoint its location for quicker deployment of officers. The system is deployed in the Englewood and Harrison districts, traditionally among the city's most violent.
"It's perplexing," Guglielmi said. "We deployed some very successful tactics over the Memorial Day weekend." Yet those same tactics did not seem to work as well over the Fourth holiday.

Its not about the amount of police are on the street, it about a distinct culture hell bent for leather to commit suicide.
Legal CCW cannot stop this, it can only give you a better margin of safety. Staying out of Indian country is a much better winning mindset.
Apparently some black lives matter more than others. I guess if BLM can’t play the race card, it won’t play at all.

Now if a cop shot a black person in Chiraq BLM would be out protesting. If they kill their own it goes against the narrate of “peaceful” and “non-violent” they uses when one of them ends up dead after playing stupid gave with a cop.

CCW doesn’t help out-of-state U.S. citizens since Illinois does not recognize any one elses CCW. Boycott Illinois is safe course of action and other states should follow—what I thought was law in most states—and not recognize Illinois CCW until they recognize ours.
Make church mandatory on Sunday—watch the shootings drop on that day-—maybe not.....or they kill each other off before noon....Just a suggestion....
