I have a rather strong allergy to fleas.

Animals for emotional support of the PTSD patient are not covered by the ADA.

Service dogs are for blind people.

I don't care if he's a Marine or not, I'm tired of all this "I need my emotional support pot-bellied pig or I'll burst in to tears!" nonsense.

Man up, Marine.

Telco employees must climb poles, descend into manholes, work in customer premises, and work in confined and/or dangerous environments. Are public utilities expected redesign the entire distribution architecture to allow for a particular disability? And if they did, what happens when the NEXT type of disability comes along? Another redesign?

Unfortunately, this ‘service’ dog thing has gotten a bit out of hand.

It's like handicapped parking spaces. When was the last time you saw someone park in one that used a wheelchair?

They might as well take the wheelchair off the placard and replace it with a morbidly obese woman driving a motorized shopping cart

Look at it this way - could the boss be concerned the dog might bite someone, get sued? Just saying.

Can you imagine a boy trapped in a well telling Lassie to go get help, and the closest place is a convenience store run by Muslims???

That’s right. The employer can get in big trouble for that

Yeah, the "service dog" abuse is OUT OF CONTROL. Dogs in airports, restaurants, grocery stores, etc...

Another form of "I'm a victim and need special attention". Much like handicap stickers for drivers with no visible signs of physical impairment.

Not to force your will on your employer.

The employer is in violation of the law......

If you don’t like it, there are other jobs. Get one.

That's right! There are lots of jobs out there for residential telecom installers with PTSD. Hey, from the comfort of my keyboard it sounds so easy. Just walk away.

No reason why a big company like Cincy Bell should have to obey laws like the ADA or title 7 of the civil rights act. I'm sure they have the resources to put themselves above all that. {end sarc}

>>While we are inclined to sympathize with the Vet, we are only getting one side of the story. Unfortunately, this ‘service’ dog thing has gotten a bit out of hand. Way too many people now need one for BS reasons and I see dogs in restaurants, doctor’s offices, etc.

That was my point. This PTSD dog stuff has become snowflakery for vets. We older vets hate to think that these Millennial vets are a lot like others in their age group, but they are to some extent.

It is made worse by the fact that this is a government diagnosis of a mental disorder. The government never forgets. When these guys outgrow the need to be special and just want to be normal, the government will remember. One day, it will be a disqualifying item on a 4473 for these veterans who took the easy disability money today.

It is time to revisit the ADA, perhaps the most abused piece of legislation in history.

Thanks papa Bush.

Muzzies trump handicapped. Probably some muzzi upset about having to work around a dog, and that’s why the company doesn’t want to say what is really going on.

There was an incident involving a woman and a dog on an airplane on the ABC News recently.....Seriously, I read of a woman and her therapy pig on an airline recently. Are we talking the same broad?

On FOX this morning Cincinnati Bell made a stament that this vet does installs an set ups in customer homes.

Under the circumstances I can understand why they say no dog.

Many people do not want a dog in their house. Some may even have allergies.

Service dogs don’t interfere in an office environment. If they do they shouldn’t be service dogs. I have a friend with epilepsy and you don’t even know her dog is around - unless she is about to have a seizure. It’s the most amazing thing you have seen. To alert her the dog puts her front feet on my friends seat or lap and stares her in the eye.

I’m sure you’d be happy to work next to Eddie Ray Routh or let him into your house to do some work. After all, he was a veteran with a PTSD card.

The company is totally within it’s rights. The vet can find another job. I am wondering how sympathetic the media would be if an employee wasn’t allowed to wear his MAGA hat to work, even though it helps his PTSD. You know... a ‘service’ hat.
