I’m sure the million mom marchers and the space nut will be all over this judge. Oh wait, they only go after law-abiding gun owners.

The suspected shooter still hasn't been arrested, but police have told the Sun-Times that they believe he's in Mexico, where he has family. The department is working with the US Marshals to try to apprehend him, the report added.

I wonder what a “high caliber” assault weapon is.
The headline is misleading. It is intended to make it sound like this was a legal private face to face sale gone wrong.
But the sale is apparently not what this guy was arrested for. He was arrested because he was a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Of course the truth doesn’t support the “we need more gun control” narrative....

IOW, they are trying to pay to have him kidnapped and brought to the border.
Details in this news report: But the Chicago media of course refers to the trade of firearms for drugs is a ‘transfer’.

Ultimately it wound up in the hands of a guy named Charlie Williams who lives on the South Side of Chicago. ... He is the one that transferred it to this street gang who used it to then shoot a police officer.”............

Did I miss the law this guy broke? If all he did was sell the rifle in a private transaction, what law did he break?
He was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
In the photo, the van windshield appears not to be penetrated, and probably was a .223 rather than larger.

“The federal complaint against Williams alleges he sold a 9 mm pistol last month to an undercover informant working for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Agents were watching as Williams pulled his Nissan into a parking garage in west suburban La Grange, popped the trunk and handed the informant a white plastic bag containing the weapon.
“It’s been fired, but it didn’t get fired at nothing,” Williams allegedly told the informant, who was wearing a hidden wire. “I shot it at a (gun) range.”
The informant told agents that he previously traded the same gun to Williams for about $350 worth of cocaine, according to the complaint.
In May, the informant had a similar transaction with Williams, that time trading him a Yugo Tokarev M57 pistol for about $200 worth of drugs, the complaint alleged.
Williams was convicted in 1998 of first-degree murder and sentenced to 30 years in Illinois state prison, according to the complaint. Details of that crime were not immediately available.”
I have noticed the Left Media Cartel has seamlessly moved from assault weapon(semi-automatic) to assault rifle(automatic).
If this gentleman had sold an automatic weapon to La Raza, he would have been arrested for that.
How many read assault rifle and think it was an automatic weapon?
The .223 is a good coyote round, but underpowered for much more than that.
