President Trump unveiled a round of 11 judicial nominees Thursday for openings on district courts across the country.

Trump's announced his intent to fill openings on district courts in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Oklahoma.

As of July 13, there were 108 current vacancies on district courts with six nominees pending, according to the Administrative Office of the United States Courts' website.

The list includes the nomination of Liles Burke, an associate judge on the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals, to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and William “Billy” Ray, the presiding judge on the Georgia Court of Appeals, to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Trump has also nominated several private practice attorneys, including Annemarie Axon, an Alabama trust, estate and business attorney, to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama; and white collar and government investigations lawyer Michael Brown to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Brown spent six years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Georgia and in the Southern District of Florida, where he tried more than twenty-five cases and argued criminal appeals, according to the White House.

Trump's other nominations Thursday include William “Chip” Campbell Jr. to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee; Mark Norris Sr. and Thomas Parker to be judges on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee; Charles Goodwin to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma; Thomas Farr to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina; Eli Richardson to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee; and Tilman “Tripp” Self to be on the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia.

Will they ever have a hearing?

You bet they will with Sen Grassley as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Plus those five states have no RAT Sen.

“...Plus those five states have no RAT Sen.”

Senator Grassley needs to proceed with the process for those nominees whose nominations are being held up by a ‘RAT not returning a blue slip within a reasonable time. The fate of the Republic depends upon that IMHO.

You’re absolutely right.

Senator Grassley needs to take the fight to the RATS and make it clear the “blue slip” move will not work because that rule can be changed.

Dump the blue slip rule now, it’s ridiculous. The Rats just use it to obstruct.

GOOD NEWS!
That said, Trump needs to get serious about the “Tyranny of the judiciary” feared by Jefferson.
