A walk for “healing and justice” is slated to be held Thursday night in south Minneapolis for Justine Damond, the Australian yoga teacher fatally shot by a police officer after calling 911 over the weekend.
The “Peace and Justice Walk for Justine” is scheduled to start Thursday at 7 p.m. at the intersection of 51st Street and Washburn Avenue South, according to a Facebook event page hosted by Women’s March Minnesota.
The walk will start where Damond was killed and end about a mile away at a park on the west side of Lake Harriet. Participants are welcome to honor Damond by carrying “battery-operated candles.”
The walk, which the Facebook page says was organized by Damond’s neighbors, will focus on healing, seeking justice for Damond and others who have died at the hands of police.

Whats to heal?
The cop killed an inocent person.
The population doesn’t need healing the Mayor and PD need a grand jurying and change of venue trial.
Execute the shooter and then the healing will be complete.
Healing? How can you have healing when the city government and police department refuses to the identify the disease?
I hope that none of those participating get shot by cops “in fear for their life”.

That was my first thought too. But then if I were related to the victim, I suppose the walk would bring me some comfort. Because it means that people care about what happened.
I just hope that the walkers - and the family - focus on who’s at fault here. This was no accident. that cop needs prison time. And the city that hired him needs to pay.

Clever. They are merging this with the other cases of cops shooting citizens, justified or not. So now, this is not an incompetent affirmative action hire murdering a citizen, it’s the same as a White cop killing a Black kid.

Peace and Justice? The cop either *did*,or did *not*,have good reason to fire.My money’s on “did not”.Assuming I’m correct the cop’s *FULL* background must be investigated because “jihad” would absolutely be a plausible explanation.
