(CNN)Yes, you read that right. Inmates in White County, Tennessee, can shave 30 days off their jail sentence if they undergo an elective birth control procedure.

Both male and female inmates can volunteer for the new program. Women receive a Nexplanon implant in their arm, which provides up to three years of continuous birth control. Men undergo a vasectomy. The procedures are free and conducted by the Tennessee Department of Health.

If every county did this, the salubrious results would be off the charts.

But there would be lag times, and hence leftists would discount the results.

A Governor once said, “What the state of Georgia needs is a better class of criminal.”

If every jurisdiction was stupid enough to do this particular iteration of the concept then when the drug implant on the women inevitably proves to cause some medical problem for the woman or birth defects in later children the taxpayers would be facing a huge indemnity.

Granted, that’s fair and they would certainly deserve it like this place will.

But a tubal is a proven process that isn’t playing the same roulette wheel.

Good for the environment I guess. It may become mandatory. Why am I a little uneasy about this?

Do you think that criminals make good parents?

>>Why am I a little uneasy about this?

Because conservatism is a suicide pact for some???

It isn’t mandatory and sterilizing people who can’t make good enough choices to stay out of jail is a good idea.

What does a vasectomy have to do with being a parent? Faithhopecharity is right, this makes no sense whatsoever!

There's a non-profit out there which gives cash grants to drug addicts who get sterilized.

Women receive a Nexplanon implant in their arm, which provides up to three years of continuous birth control.

Not enough. Needs to be permanent sterilization. Should do the same for welfare after 2 kids.
