I wish every professor and student whose rights are denied by some leftist, PC university administration would sue the offending institution to the maximum extent possible. It’s the only thing that will force them to change their ways.

Yes! It’s time for a few conservative professors to make their retirement plans into ‘Ever-Green’ financial portfolios. The time for suffering in righteous silence is over, if you wish to turn the tables on your oppressors!

He’s a liberal but his sin was being white on campus.

Few ever sit down and analyze Evergreen. It was started in 1967....as a NON-traditional type college. That means that they were going in an experiential direction. You would show up and enroll in an academic program....NOT a class. The professors would write academic evaluations on students...not grades. In the mix of this...there are no ‘majors’...just a concentration area. While it is accredited, if you were looking at the value of a Evergreen degree...you’d start to shake your head because it opens up the door for a number of losers to attend....fake out the professors....and there’s no worries about failing because of the lack of grades.

Tuition? $6,500 a year. Go and compare it against most four-year public colleges, and it’s a remarkable deal, but you need to ask why.

As for the demographics? This is another part of the story. For the first twenty years....students of color made up seven to ten percent of the students in the college. In the 1990s, they started to edge up....to 15-to-17 percent. Since 2011....they now make up a minimum of 25-percent (probably hitting 30-percent in 2017). All of this while the state demographics image is 3.5-percent black.

My thoughts on Weinstein’s case? If I were the college...I’d go and try to talk him down to one-million and settle before this goes into court. I think he’s got a great case to win but I’m not sure if he deserves 3.8 million.

Agreed, but since Evergreen is a publicly funded institution, any judgement ultimately comes from the pockets of WA state taxpayer (which might not be too bad a thing, since Seattle is a leftist sewer).

A better idea would be to spin off Evergreen from the taxpayer's teats and let them fend for themselves.

Thanks for the historical back-drop.

Is this college funded by the State of Washington?

It is a state public four-year college. Any resident of the state can attend for the in-state rate. I should note...out-of-state rate is $24,000 a year.

I would say this as well...just on my own analysis of the school. If you were a C-minus high school kid, who just wanted a degree and weren’t that bright....this is the perfect school with their degree program which involves no grades. You could get a degree in education in four years, and get yourself a loser-teacher job somewhere in the state very easily.

Best to shut it down, bulldoze it, and sell the land to a developer.

Yes. It’s part of the state university system. The campus really ought to be converted to a mental hospital. The faculty could be the first in line for treatment.

It makes me furious that my property taxes are helping to fund that mess.

“...sell the land to a developer.”

More primo real estate - scenic woods, beautiful beach front - for rich, liberal refugees from California to buy up? I don’t think so. Far too many of them up here now to suit me.
