Taxpayer-funded sex-change surgeries would cost the Pentagon $1.3 billion over 10 years.
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that transgender individuals will not be eligible to serve in the military, with the White House citing cost and military readiness concerns.
Internal data provided to the Washington Free Beacon from Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R., Mo.), a leading opponent of taxpayer-funded sex changes, show that even by using a conservative estimate, the costs associated with 0.7 percent of the military population is great.
Hartzler's office provided a detailed calculation that shows estimates of the current number of transgender service members, and the number likely to seek a taxpayer-funded gender transition.
"The 10-year cost estimate is for surgery only and is adjusted for 3 percent inflation; it accounts for Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve members currently serving as well as new recruits over the same time period," the document states. "It uses the FY 18 DoD number for total number of military members and multiplies it by the percentage of military personnel assumed to be transgender as reported by the UCLA Williams Institute and the National Center for Transgender Equality."
The 2014 Williams Institute study found there were 15,500 transgender individuals actively serving, or 0.7 percent of the military population. By adjusting the figure for the enlistment numbers of 2,130,000, there are currently 14,910 transgender service members.
Thirty percent will likely seek surgeries, or 4,473 transgender troops. The average cost per surgery is $132,000, which is a combination of the average cost of male to female ($140,450) and female to male ($124,400) surgeries.

Nothing “costs” the Pentagon except for personal sacrifices in defense of the Country.
Getting a vagina installed is a direct and unnecessary cost to the taxpayer.
In any just, sane world, the idea a nations military paying to cut their own soldier's dicks off would be considered depraved and unthinkable.

The American taxpayer should not be forced to subsidize the cost of a personal decision.
I am not familiar with military rules, but I can see taking care of a person who has an ailment, PTSD, etc. That should be a given.
But this costly, subjective surgery (yes, there are fine lines when we venture into the realm of emotional disorders), is a choice. People go through the horrors of war out of love of country; if they develop problems, physical or emotional, we owe it to them to care for them.
But it just seems that deciding to change your gender is something else entirely.
Perhaps someone can express this better than I; had about two hours of sleep last night because of a cough that won’t go away. :)

Going “trannie” is elective and the same as if you don’t like the way your ears or nose looks and want surgery to change them. It’s cosmetic and like your teeth if you go to the VA to have them taken care of it comes out of your pocket.

2. they join just to get the free hormones and then the free surgery ...
3. If they are in the front lines they are not there as trannies...
4. They have to prove they should be retained in order to reenlist...they can be separated at that time...
5. I doubt many have enlisted in the last year except for the operation...most didn’t enlist to serve the country...they wont stay if they cant have the operation...
6. President Trump did nothing to the homosexuals and lesbians he never said they couldn’t serve...
7. Many people cant serve because they are too old, too fat, hard of hearing or very short sighted or lame or have diabetes, or had hepatitis or have some other illness...
that $1 Billion would jump much higher if trannies all joined for the operation
its a good thing President Trump cut it off now...
BTW a year ago why didn’t they just have the operation using the so wonderful ObamaCare ???

they military readiness thingy...
last night and today I learnt that many SEAL Team members and other such groups in the military are all trannies...
how would we win a war if all our special forces are recovering from the operations ???
plus I guess the trannie gets to choose just when he has his operation...the recovery has to be months of being laid up and unable to be assigned to the front lines...
The Air Forces enlistment is 4 years long...when I was in the USAF most people got out about 3 1/2 years and when I reenlisted it was at about that mark...
If it takes several months to recover enough to be sent to a squadron supporting the planes or guard them...the airman enlists probably cant go to the front lines right away because he is on a regiment of hormones,,,
then after a few months he is ready for the op...he has the op stays in hospital for some weeks to avoid infections or problems with his other organs...with him saying he doesn’t feel well enough to be discharged..
then finally he is sent to a rehab facility of some sort for several more weeks months...
Then he gets light duty a cushy desk job make work answering a phone for a few months until hes all well...
by that time 18 moths, 2 years have gone by ...if he gets orders cut to go to an overseas assignment the date he is to be at the duty station might not be for another 6 months...
Oh dear now he doesn’t have enough time left in his enlistment to fulfill that 18 month assignment at that duty station...
Oh well he may as well just hang around or have an early out...
and his good conduct medal will prove what a brave super troop he was...
The most painful part of transgender surgery is when the suck out the remaining portion of the brain.
It just annoys me that future historians will think I was in support of this lunacy! The American people do not support lunacy!

So if a guy decides he’s really a girl, has the gov. paid for surgury, then a year or two decides he really IS a guy - does the gov. have to pay for him to have another surgery?

Its a scam. Transgenders will join the army, put in 2 years and get a surgery they could never have afforded. Why do you think the gays were so eager to get married? AIDS coverage for them and their spouses from the military or their employers insurance.
