McConnell to consider bipartisan plan to pay health insurers

McConnell told reporters Saturday there is “still a chance” the Senate could revive the measure to repeal and replace “Obamacare,” but he acknowledged the window for that is rapidly closing.

The Kentucky senator noted Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee is working on “some kind of bipartisan approach” that would involve subsidies for insurance companies.

Alexander recently said he will work with the committee’s top Democrat, Sen. Patty Murray of Washington state, on a bill next month that would pay insurers through 2018. In exchange, Alexander wants Democrats to agree to make it easier for states to choose their own health coverage standards that insurers must provide rather than abiding by former President Barack Obama’s law. …

Why is it that the only comments that come to mind on this are expletives?

Citizens: “We’d like to keep more of our own money. We have other bills to pay.”
McConnell: “You want me to funnel more of your money to the big insurance companies who help finance my campaign? Okay.”

If they weren’t, they’d be extremely loud inarticulate roars and yells.

Isn’t that nice. Their corporate donors will be taken care of as usual.

Everyone else can go screw. Watch them pass it in record time.

This guy is an asshole.

They promised repeal, they didn’t repeal. They told us to move on then they went on vacation. Now he wants to continue funding what was supposed to be repealed, he wants to continue subsiding insurance companies.

Yeah but...if they didn't do this, then the Democrats would CONTROL EVERYTHING (Cue Scooby-Doo scary music)

This just means we have to go out and hold our noses again! Do you really want the Dems to win?

WTH?!

What is up with these limp wristed national traitors to the United States?! They can’t even defend their own party, let alone the country or citizens but by GOD they’ll move hell and high water to save some 1% rich fatass insurance companies?!

McConnell is now a traitor to this country and his party like McCain and needs to resign immediately.

As much as I loath Reid he at least ran the Senste for his party.
Ryan needs to gut the legislation if it ever makes it back to the house (which it will and he won’t) and Trump should veto it immediately after a giant thumbs down to the cameras

What a Bacala Lamar is... Seriously these payments are illegal, end them. He sooooo needs to face a challenger in the primaries, his next time around.

I pay more than ever for health insurance, but now nothing is covered. And Mcconnell is going to take my tax money to pay more? These people need serious payback.

Not just that. They want to attack POTUS and control the beltway agenda. Kenyancare first. Then the budget, etc. Listen to McNasty trolling Trump this week as “weak”. Game on. GOPe is making their move, IMO. Game on.
