In no uncertain terms, Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin said he isn't going to toe the party line on every policy issue, just because he's up for re-election.
"I don't give a sh*t, you understand? I just don't give a sh*t," he told the Charleston Gazette-Mail Sunday. "Don't care if I get elected, don't care if I get defeated, how about that. If they think because I'm up for election, that I can be wrangled into voting for sh*t that I don't like and can't explain, they're all crazy."
He continued: "I'm not scared of an election, let's put it that way. Elections do not bother me or scare me. I'm going to continue to do the same thing Ive always done, extremely independent."
Manchin made the comments in response to pushback he received for not signing on to a letter establishing the Democratic Party's three main policy positions tax reform.

For what's it's worth, Joe's trying to become a non-Democrat Democrat ... because he really does care about re-election.
Then vote like an American not like a Democrat.
Like his states governor it would do him well to bolt the democrat party.
I would also suggest McCain/Graham and a few others bolt from their party too.
” I can be wrangled into voting for sh*t that I don’t like and can’t explain, they’re all crazy.”
It’s all about you Joe.
All talk, no action Manchin. He voted with his Dem overlords NOT to repeal Barrycare. Not impressed by his recent bluster unless he starts in with real action to match. Otherwise meh Joe.
When considering the two party principles, is he more a Democrat or Republican? It sounds like he is more on the right side of the dividing line and should switch.
Trump goes to a rally in West Virginia and voila!
“I would also suggest McCain/Graham and a few others bolt from their party too.”
I will never, never, be able to grasp such asinine thinking. If the Republicans lose the majority in the Senate, who do you think the democrats will seat as Supreme Court justices for the next forty years?
I don’t remember him voting with republicans on anything of consequence....hid under his desk on repealing OCare!!!
Exactly, if he wanted to prove that he should have voted to repeal Obamacare instead of doing what the Dem mis-leadership directed.
Sounds some what Conservative, votes Liberal...He’d fit right in today’s Republican party.
Good for you, Joe!
I admire him. I wish more republicans felt that way and didn’t renege on their promise to repeal Obamacare.
Notice that McConnell could not turn even ONE Dem Senator to vote for the Ocare repeal, even though 23 of them are up for re-election.
Had McConnell turned Manchin, McCain’s treasonous vote would not have mattered.
More proof the whole GOP Senate is useless and anti-Trump.
But they all run in front of the TV cameras and Sunday shows to remind us how hard they are fighting for us!
Manchin is just blowing smoke now for the folks back home—he KNOWS his election is around the corner timewise, and wants to pull a McCain on everyone—go back home and fool the folks, then get back to DC to do Schumer’s bidding.
A pox on all of them!
When did a rat tell the truth?
The republicans obviously, currently don’t have, in fact, a majority now do they?
If they bolt.....the next time they run...those who vote the straight Republican Party line will vote them out. The attempts at primarying some of these clowns like McCain and Linda Graham hasn’t worked.
This is a marathon. It will produce fruit in the future (no....not talking about Graham).
But the point is moot. Those two enjoy being a burr under the GOP saddle.
Looks like Joe is joining his fellow Dems in thinking that swearing is going to appeal to those rural hick white voters.
Lying POS!
He’s no hero, that’s for sure.
No doubt lol. Manchin is was and will always be a career politician. What a maroon.
