Donald Trump Surprises Media with Vacation Press Conferences
Breitbart ^ | 11 Aug 2017 | CHARLIE SPIERING

President Donald Trump is on a working vacation, but he surprised reporters in the White House press pool by taking multiple questions on two occasions. The president brought the White House press pool onto his golf course in New Jersey before a security briefing with his advisers and after his briefing.

“I think we’re making tremendous headway,” Trump said, revealing that he and his staff would talk about North Korea and Venezuela.

“Any questions?” he volunteered.

advertisement The president spent eight minutes speaking with the press before the meeting and more than 20 minutes after the meeting.

He answered over 30 questions about several topics, including his handling of the North Korea problem, the opioid crisis, his relationship with Sen. Mitch McConnell, the war in Afghanistan, the Russia investigation, his decision to ban transgenders from the military, and his relationship with Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Trump sat in the room with Vice President Mike Pence; his National Security adviser, H.R. McMaster; CIA Director Mike Pompeo; Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert; his new chief of staff, John Kelly; and his communications adviser, Hope Hicks.

The president appeared rested, in command, and eager to share news about his presidency with the same “fake news” media he spent most of his vacation trashing on Twitter.

After about ten minutes of taking questions, press secretary Sarah Sanders held up a sheet of paper telling reporters they only had one more question, but Trump kept talking.

When asked about intelligence reports about North Korea, Trump joked with reporters about leaks.

“You’ll probably find out about it before anybody else, right?” he asked as reporters laughed.

“We got to stop the leaks,” he continued.

Trump specified two kinds of leaks — the serious leaks from national security and intelligence institutions and then the “little inner-White House leaks.”

“Then you have the leaks where people want to love me, and they’re all fighting for love,” Trump said as the press laughed. “Those are not very important, but certainly, we don’t like them. Those are little inner-White House leaks. They’re not very important. But, actually, I’m somewhat honored by them.”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Trump does more with his journo-labeled "vacation" day than Hussein would do on a regular day in the White House...

I thought the press people were surprisingly polite and sane during this presser. Maybe a different group than the usual suspects.

And the sharks who swam in the pool thought this to be a vacation. Fun under the sun, pool side.

Our President is seldom ‘on vacation’ or ‘out to lunch’. Unlike the last occupant of our OO, PT is constantly working, if not actively seen doing so, his mind is in overdrive to MAGA as rapidly as he is able to do so. OMG! I LOVE this man!
DJT = MAGA

Or maybe the fact they're not cooped up in that tiny press room at the White House. Maybe it's time for a new White House press room at another building near the White House?

I know the media is calling this a vacation while the White House is being renovated. But you can bet that his own people are going over every inch of the”heating and air conditioning” looking for bugs. And while the White House is being searching from roof to basement, he’s conducting business in a more secure location and talking face to face with people.

Lame steam media’s gonna have to adjust their definition of “working vacation”.

Trump does more with his journo-labeled “vacation” day than Hussein would do on a regular day in the White House...
_____________
Can anyone find evidence that Donald Trump ever actually took a specified *vacation*? Even prior to running for and winning the Presidency?

His known personal schedule is erratic by the standards f the majority, yet consistent, for him. He lives a seamless sort of life, where work and recreation flow into one another as necessary. He may move a meeting to a golf course or a preferred dining venue. It works for him, as evidenced by his lifetime accomplishments.

If he had run and won on the D ticket, he would be universally adored and his energy would be lauded breathlessly. No matter what the opposition throws at him, he perseveres. His focus is tight. It’s telling the posters on r/The_Donald and the chans call him “God Emperor”.

It would not be at all upsetting if those doing the WH upgrades found major structural issues, etc, and they needed a year or so for repairs. Trump could operate out of NJ and normal WH functions would be done in some other DC building, keeping media swampthings and elected swampthings stuck in DC.

(I hope some decision makers are reading this. It's a really good idea)

That is how I see it. The Jim Acosta types were not there.

May be the second stringers because the other group is on vacation. I think if they are polite they should be promoted

What vacation? The WH is under construction so he couldn’t be there if he wanted. The msm are idiots.

“I thought the press people were surprisingly polite and sane during this presser.”

there’s some kind of shift happening behind the scenes in the Democrat-Enemedia-Complex: there have been a FEW very surprisingly positive articles about Trump recently. There was one from WaPo and one from USA Today posted here this week. Those are the first positive enemedia articles I’ve seen since Trump was elected.

I’m really not sure what it signifies, though. Perhaps they realize 100% negative has simply been WAY too obvious and isn’t working, so they’re shifting to 99% negative, with a couple of red herring positive articles thrown in to sow a bit of confusion. Or it could be something else. Hard to say, but I do think something new is afoot.

I don’t doubt there are needed upgrades being made at the White House. My point is that it serves a dual purpose. Trump can talk in confidence, face to face to cabinet members and others when at his own club in NJ. And if there are any listening devices in the White House, renovations may uncover them.
