Virginia Secretary of Public Safety Confirms Gov. McAuliffe ‘Made the Decision…to Shut Things Down’
Breitbart ^ | 8-17-18 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Posted on 08/18/2017 3:36:16 PM PDT by afraidfortherepublic

Virginia Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security Brian Moran told Richmond talk radio host Jeff Katz on Monday that Governor Terry McAuliffe “made the decision . . . to shut things down” at Emancipation Park in Charlottesville...August 12.

Appearing on Katz’s 1140 AM WRVA radio program, Moran explained the rapidly moving sequence of events that began at 11:22 a.m. when he phoned Governor McAuliffe from the City of Charlottesville Command Center located on the sixth floor of the Wells Fargo building in downtown Charlottesville, just a few blocks from Emancipation Park.

“In light of the escalating violence we had to shut things down,” Moran told Katz (beginning at the 4:15 mark in the audio recording of the interview).

“At about 11:22 I called the governor and he immediately made the decision yes, go ahead, and of course, in consultation with the Virginia State Police, Colonel Flaherty, we put in the appropriate place to clear the park and clear the streets,” Moran said.

Katz was able to confirm Moran’s statement the following day, Tuesday, when he interviewed Virginia State Police Superintendent Stephen Flaherty, who said that both he and Charlottesville City Manager Maurice Jones were with Secretary Moran at the Wells Fargo building command center that morning.

“The [Charlottesville] City Manager was in the command post with us [on the 6th Floor of the Wells Fargo building downtown Charlottesville],” Flaherty told Katz. But seconds later in that interview, Flaherty let slip what critics of the police response to the Emancipation Park rally and related brawls between two opposing groups have been saying since the event occured.

“We felt early on we would probably have to declare an unlawful assembly,” Flaherty said.

An eyewitness account described the events that morning that Secretary Moran told Katz comprised “the escalating violence.”

The plan from the beginning was to allow an unlawful assembly for the purpose of violating the First Amendment rights of the group which followed the rules. In essence, the Government, with premeditation, planned by proxy to violate the rights of others under color of authority.

Extremely well stated.

The "under color of authority" part create grounds for a Federal civil rights lawsuit right there.

The chain of events and the planning for the event need further examination. This whole deal looks suspicious.

I'm beginning to more and more suspect that the rally's organizer, a 'former' supporter of Obama, and pro-Occupy Wall Street guy, deliberately set out to launch a race war that would ultimately result in, in his mind, the 'elimination' of a lot of people. One possible reason, again, in his mind, to reduce the human population. Sounds ridiculous, I know. But check out this 2015 article of his that I dug up yesterday on the internet archive site, WayBackMachine...

A Historical Perspective On Mass Violence

[by Jason Kessler]

Here's a different kind of question I've often had about large scale tragedies like natural disasters, diseases & gun violence:

We get so caught up in the emotion of the violence that we don't consider the long-term, historical consequences. To put it bluntly: the planet is overpopulated already. Maybe we shouldn't try to cure every disease, we shouldn't confiscate all the harmful drugs, etc.

Perhaps we'd be happier if we made peace with the fact that rabid animals are going to dwindle the herd from time to time (as they have in much greater volume throughout history) & that's not really a bad thing in the long run.

Should we try to stop as many large scale attacks as possible? Of course... but I don't think the zeitgeist should have an aneurysm every time one occurs either.

I think we be served to draw some historical perspective on how difficult the human condition has always been & how that is something of a blessing in disguise.

Take for instance how valuable the conquerors throughout history, as bloody & awful as they were during their reigns, have been to population control.

We think the planet is overpopulated now: the environment sick, the resources dwindling; where in the world [would] we be without Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Julius Caesar or for that matter the bubonic plague, cancer & AIDS?

Here's an article on the beneficial impact Genghis Khan's conquests had on the environment & sustainability, for example.

There are already 7.125 BILLION people on Planet Earth.

Try to extrapolate out how many people would be here now if EVERYONE had survived & had kids, which seems to be the ultimate aim of modern society... a right if you will... to defy the boundaries of nature.

It'd be one hell of a dystopian nightmare that's for sure.

The word in cville was that the police helicopter was flying cover for the governor who was monitoring the event near the city. If this was true, was the governor was waiting for a his glory in stopping the event? Was this part of his stepping stone for a run at the presidency? Three dead in Virginia college town will put a damper on that dream if he is wrangled into this mess.

I remember reading that the police steered the groups toward each other.

That being said, the article gives the time of 10 am as when acts of violence began. If the police did not steer one group to put them into a position to attack the other, then it also did nothing to keep them apart when they had a chance to do so. The accounts given still point to the police doing nothing to keep the groups apart. I accept what is given so far as proof unless authorities can give a better explanation.

What really sucks is that the lady who died is becoming cannonized by the left groups and politicians. People where saying she died for the cause but I’m still wondering what social justice will get the nod to make her saint heather?

There are eyewitness accounts that haven’t been sourced and circumstantial evidence that has yet to be verified but it’s mounting up. It deserves a Federal investigation but is anyone in the FedMob LEAs clean enough to do it? Too many of them seem to be part of the opposition to rule of law.

That’s pretty good, There still needs to be Federal Criminal Prosecution.

But here is my next question:

On what Planet would self described followers of the National Socialist Workers Party be considered “Right” of Anything except full blown communism??

So wasn’t this really a War between two factions of the Wild Eyed Leftists??

I’ve looked at this as commies and Nazis. If the incident can be used to indict and prosecute people on both sides, so much the better.

There is no doubt in my heart that if the Democrats got a good shot at indicting a sitting Republican Governor or sitting Republican Mayor, they would jump on it. And your question is a very good one. Do the Republicans have the stones to take on a sitting Democrat Governor or a sitting Democrat Mayor?

There was a pop-up tent, chairs, and two camera operators. The authorities had the scene covered.

Now, it is high time to discover a copy of the script for the day’s events.

Admiral Ackbar had it sized up when he said, “It’s a trap.”

McAuliffe et al should be investigated and prosecuted by the Justice Department for violating the civil rights of those who were granted a permit to assemble and speak, and then denied their rights through violence and intimidation.....
