Why Are Trump’s Justice Department Appointees Protecting the IRS?
The Daily Signal ^ | August 23, 2017 | Hans Spakovsky

Various media sources have reported that federal District Court Judge Reggie Walton has ordered the IRS to finally respond to various legal requests for information and documents made by the conservative tea party organizations that sued the agency.

But the question that no one is asking is why that order was even necessary, and why the Justice Department, which is now supposedly under the control and authority of the new administration, hasn’t reversed its obstinate, inflexible, and stubborn defense of the IRS.

It was over four years ago that the inspector general for tax administration at the Treasury Department released a report detailing that the IRS had targeted conservative nonprofit organizations seeking tax-exempt status, and that then-IRS employee Lois Lerner admitted what had been happening at an American Bar Association meeting in Washington.

The inspector general report found that officials were delaying the processing of applications and requesting voluminous, unnecessary, and irrelevant information, due to the perceived opposition of the nonprofits to liberal policies being promulgated by President Barack Obama and their association with the tea party movement.

Because we won an election for the presidency. That is not to be confused with running the executive branch.

Buy ammo.
Have a refuge and avoid debt on it like cyanide.
Strengthen family and friend relationships.
Have a good set of hand tools.
Keep a -lot- of interesting books around.

Be ready.

Not just the IRS. Harry Reid was due for bribe charges.

This is another of those data points, like the continued tenure of the Obama appointed IRS Commissioner, John Koskinen, that makes me wonder how much President Trump is really in control of the mass of the government.

Imagine if they remain unscathed throughout the entire Trump presidency. If a democrat becomes president again someday, they will be so emboldened that the Lerner shenanigans will seem likely a schoolyard prank.

The Trump State Department and the Trump Justice Department sent the same lawyers into this judge to make the same arguments that had been made for four years during the Obama years, that we’ve already searched and we are not going to search anymore.

It is deeply disturbing and ridiculous for Justice Dept to be permitted to hide behind the wall of silence they enjoy.

Sessions has us believing his department cannot walk and chew gum at the same time.

He makes strides on illegal immigrants and FBI is soaking in the false Russia ruse, and THAT is it!

Death by paralysis is killing us. Corruption is on the march.

Why would the Dept. of Homeland Security have to—hat in hand—request from the State Department that they suspend issuance of visas to countries that refuse to accept back their countrymen who entered this country illegally and are being deported?
It’s bad enough that we have rogue `Republicrats’ torpedoing President Trump, but these people work for him and at his pleasure, at least the policy-makers.
There was enough swamp waiting for him, but now he has to get tough with his own appointees?
And why is Jeff Sessions acting like a milquetoast, after breathing fire as a senator?

That is an understatement. Sessions is letting everything go along . Business as usual. Anyone mentioning sessions is told, even by numerous FReepers that” it takes a long time to do an investigation”. As a general statement this is probably true. In the present cases, People(Hillary, Rice, Comey, Huma, DWS, etc..) have already made public statements of guilt. Nothing more is needed to charge.

Trump , on the other hand, needs to step up his game. Overall he is doing well. He won’t be able to compete if the achieve the goal of “getting rid of him”. Rino’s are waiting for the impeachment process. They will fillet Trump. He must go on offense. He can’t take years to replace a corrupt IRS Commissioner. He can’t wait until the 2018 Elections to shut down Mueller. By then, Hillary will have paid so much money into Mueller he will find something.

"The swamp was never drained. Its rising all around Trump."

And the Congressional floaters are keeping the system clogged.

I'm wondering why Koskinen wasn't one of the first people replaced. Do you think it's possible Trump is worried that Koskinen might leak his tax returns? Something is definitely not kosher.

Don’t know, but Koskinen was one of the most reviled of appointees, arrogant beyond belief before Congress, and many groups in the base wanted him out immediately. Yet, he is still there, so, yes, something is definitely not right.
