We are a big, big city. We have twice as many people in Houston than you have in Manhattan. We are 2200 square miles big. We are experiencing what could possibly be the worse storm in history. Our roads are flooded, our houses are under siege and there is no end in sight for the next couple of days. We don't need you or any other liberal newscaster coming down here to try to stir things up. Evacuation decisions were made to try to keep the roads open for coastal residents who had to evacuate. With this historic flooding, Texans are bringing their boats into the city to help get fellow Texans to safety. We aren't looking to affix blame, we are trying to survive and help one another. If you aren't here to help, get the hell out. We don't need your petty, snarky comments meant to sow seeds of division. We don't operate that way down here and we don't like people that do.

There are Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and Whites riding in those volunteer boats, so generously offered and manned by good Texas fishermen. Yes, White men who did not look at the skin color of those they saved. They just did the job because no one else could. The TV reporters didn’t even ask their names, so we tip our Stetsons to the anonymous heroes who saved the day for many families in their flooded homes. We are thankful for men such as you.
Hmmm. Did I miss a report that Texas nazis are keeping help away from the city? I see the Cajun Navy has arrived to offer assistance in S&R ops. Prayers up for those affected.

I believe that a lot of Louisiana's Katrina's issues came not only from incompetence, but from the Dems playing politics against Bush.
But tht's what the Media/Democrats do. Instead of providing objective journalism (media) and positive constructive ideas and solutions (Democrats) they only have one thing left - division and hate, just like what they now call the (violent) "counter-protestors".

Right on!! I am not a Democrat apologist, but the Mayor of Houston followed good counsel. One can not evacuate 3-4 million people into the dark wet night. Media get a grip.
Although a Fox News viewer, some of the news babes are almost as clueless.
A good rule of thumb is to postulate only about things you know a little about. Having practiced drainage engineering in the Houston region for 43 years , I feel free to discuss floods, However I will keep my mouth shut about operating / maintaining the NYC subway system!

I hope this happens....listening to a talking head, part of a panel yesterday. trying like mad through innuendo to blame POTUS for hurricane Harvey....Huston and the rest of Texas has everything under control. A pox on CNN etc.!

Knowing how the propaganda media thinks, if they saw the Blacks/Hispanics who were rescued, sitting in the back of the boats, their liberal minds would instantly go to the white rescuers being racist, finding out everything about them, and making this into Rosa Parks all over again. Ignoring the facts, such as, putting them there to keep the boat balanced, the white fisherman are still rescuing them, even though they are not white, and so on.
