The Constitution knows what it’s doing. Too bad we don’t let it do its job often enough.....

I’m partially inclined to think Trump pardoned Arpaio early on to see if a legal challenge to his pardon would arise. If Trump ends up pardoning anyone for the witch hunt, I expect it will be around Christmas.

I still fail to realize what Sheriff Joe did wrong.

*****************

This has been an ongoing event over several years. Right or wrong he failed to follow
the orders of a Federal Circuit Court to halt his signature immigration round-ups.
He didn’t halt them. As a result of not stopping as ordered he was brought up on
charges of not following a court order which had a maximum sentence of six months.
A jury trial isn’t required for this type case.

So you say. What exactly was a "signature" immigration round-up" as defined by (you and) the court?
A jury trial isn’t required for this type case.
How convenient for them (and you?) that this was not a jury trial...they know they would have lost...The fix was in at the beginning.

BTTT!!!

Only snarky backstabbing dumb@sses like Jeff Flake and McLiar keep saying “the judicial process should have been played out.”

Translation: They were hoping Sheriff Joe would go bankrupt and die before his appeals were exhausted.

My bad in that I failed to include a link to that info. It was something I
copied and pasted. I can’t find the article now but if I do I’ll link you to it.

A jury trial wasn’t required up the law when the conviction couldn’t exceed
six months in prison.
