Will Justice Come For IRS Lawbreakers At Last?

Abuse Of Power: The IRS scandal seemingly has lain dormant now for months, all but forgotten amid the spate of recent anti-Trump media spasms, the ongoing violent antics of the antifa leftists and, now, Hurricane Harvey's devastation. But even if much of Washington has forgotten about it, a Washington judge hasn't.

As reported by the Washington Examiner, Judge Reggie B. Walton of the Washington, D.C., District Court last week revived legal attention to the scandal, telling the IRS it has to reveal the names of IRS employees who targeted conservative, libertarian and Tea Party groups.

But Walton didn't stop there. He also gave the IRS until Oct. 16 to find all the records in IRS databases from May 2009 to March 2015 that are relevant to the case and to explain just why these groups were targeted.

All of this is the result of a suit against the IRS brought in 2013 by True the Vote and 38 other groups. The groups have doggedly pursued the IRS for four years after the tax agency held up their tax-exempt status before and during the 2012 election year for what appear to be blatantly political reasons. In their search for justice, the groups have had little help from the mostly apathetic, left-leaning media that wish conservative groups would just go away.

Now, with Walton's order to the IRS, PJ Media's Rick Moran asks the provocative question: "Is the IRS Scandal about break wide open?"

I have gotten my hopes up several times, only to have them dashed. I certainly won't hold my breath.

Just think, you steal a Hershey’s bar from 7-11, you go right to jail and wear the record for life.

You abuse the rights of thousands, maybe millions, in an abuse of government power, and....you retire at $180K a year, unmolested.

Good thing we live in the land of Liberty and Justice for All.

I would worry about the IRS actually complying. They’ve a tendency to go rogue. One thing for sure, you know that Judge’s taxes have been looked into ... including extended family.

First and foremost IRS Commissioner John Koskinen has to go. Why in the hell is he still there? The IRS hired back all the crooks that had been fired for criminal acts. WHY? The most corrupt agency in government and nothing is being done about it.

Been waiting since the first Clinton administration for someone to pay for weaponizing the IRS. Hard to believe anything will change now. Maybe if someone could wake up Rip van Sessions?

I still can't write my Congress and Senate because they are the type to use the IRS against their enemies.

I've actually heard people say "so what, are you hiding IRS problems?"

No, but do you think it matters to a corrupt IRS agent that's already breaking the law by politically auditing? They'll just make something up, destroy records, create new ones.

If President Trump can ever reform the IRS a gigantic wind of liberty will sweep across the country.

If only Trey Gowdy would investigate this, we could get to the bottom if it.

To be honest, we’d all be going insane if these people were hired back under obummer.

I love Trump but is he just too preoccupied with other things?

Seems like this guy should have been fired the first day.

When did A.G. Sessions ever comment on this very serious attack on the US political system by the Obama administration? He seems to be MIA.

The citizens of Stalin’s USSR feared the midnight knock on the door. The citizens of the USA fear the audit letter in the mailbox.

I’ll another little irony. I know a guy, who as a late teenager, swiped a sandwich at a quick stop gas station. Now married and a father, that blotch is on his record, preventing him from getting jobs, etc. He finally got hired thru a program that rehabilitates criminals. Meanwhile, the Clintons, Lynch, Holder, Obola, et al are celebrated and feted, scott-free.

FIrst will be civil lawsuits against those identified. Then the Feds will follow on with criminal prosecutions. These people should suffer both financially and personally with incarceration to serve as a future example to others contemplating using their positions in government to work against people with different political beliefs.
