Standard operating procedure. When someone who has access to the office safe leaves, you change the combination. Same is true for building access badges. Had nothing to do with how or why the person leaves. Sorry, no story there.

First, it’s almost never the case that when a superior leaves, the subordinate stays (yeah, in Comey’s case, but that’s a little different). I’m talking White House deputies. Guys want their own deputies. So when Bannon left, Gorka couldn’t stay.

Correct. The hysteria regarding Bannon (who by temperament was NEVER going to stay very long-—he just isn’t that kind of guy) or his subordinate, Gorka-—is over the top.
Usually when a section head leaves, his deputy goes with him if he isn’t promoted.
EVERYONE is banned from the White House unless you have specific credentials to be there.
His credentials were revoked and these are the memos going to security advising them of it, prior to his passes being physically removed from his person.
None of this is the story.
Why anyone at all in the public is even seeing them, is the story.

Standard procedure would be for Kelly to call in Gorka, to tell him to his face that he has been dismissed, and to take his badge at that point.
Kelly did't do that.
