Apparently her brother was on TV saying she was turning her life around.

She suffered a single gunshot wound to the upper back and was pronounced deceased on scene.

She was shot in the back? Was she turned away, talking to the passenger? If so, timely distraction. I'd rule out her passenger having anything to do with this.

Every teen and young adult I know, that has given his or her life to Christ, refers to it as turning their life around. It certainly doesn't imply having done anything bad.
