Iraqi politicians condemn agreement allowing ISIS fighters to leave besieged Qalamoun.
In 2009, before the Syrian civil war, a bus ride from Homs to Deir al-Zor on the Euphrates River would take around five or six hours. There was a stop for refreshments just outside of the historic city of Palmyra. Now fighters from Islamic State are taking that bus route.
Under an agreement with the Syrian regime they are being evacuated from the pocket they have held on the Lebanese-Syrian border for several years to areas ISIS controls near the Euphrates Valley between Deir al-Zor and Albukamal on the Iraqi border. The victory over ISIS during a joint offensive by the Syrian regime, Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army, and ISISs decision to evacuate, was trumpeted by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Monday. In a speech he attacked Israel and the United States, claiming that Hezbollahs war against ISIS was a continuation of the campaign against Israel.
According to Reuters the ISIS convoy included 308 ISIS members with their small arms and 331 civilians. As part of the agreement ISIS agreed to tell the Lebanese government about the whereabouts of nine Lebanese soldiers the extremists captured in 2014.
The Iraqi media appear to be suggesting that the Hashd al-Shaabi, a collection of Shia militias that, like Hezbollah, are close to Iran, should have objected to the transfer. There was also discussion of whether the US-led coalition should have struck the convoy, since it includes armed ISIS fighters.
Questions remain about whether the ISIS fighters will end up near Deir al-Zor or Al-Bukamal. Assad forces are advancing on both places, and it seems that the fighters will end up fighting the same regime that has just allowed them transit through its areas.

It has been made clear, perhaps not to the writer, that ISIS has agreed to tell the whereabouts of captured soldiers.
IIRC, I read last night that all but one are dead. Secondly, the ISIS convoy contains many women and children.

The globalists and neocons expect that young Americans have a duty to intervene and die to straighten this mess out. When will the American people come to realize that the incomprehensible entanglement in Mid East affairs over the last sixty years has done nothing to enhance the security of the American people. It has cost over three trillion dollars, killed over seven thousand brave Americans, physically and psychologically maimed tens of thousands more. Whats more it has created unnecessary bitter enemies who will spend their entire lives trying to harm Americans in any way possible.
IF we knew there was a convoy, why didn’t Spooky shoot heck out of it?

US-led Airstrike Blocks IS Fighters Headed for Iraqi Border Region
“The coalition said it is monitoring the convoy in real time and it would not rule out direct strikes on IS jihadists. Its statement added it is “not party to any agreements that were made by the Lebanese Hezbollah and ISIS or the [Syrian] regime, noting that any strikes carried out against the IS convoy would be in accordance with the law of armed conflict.”
The women and children are all ISIS
It seems we are on shaky ground with “the law of armed conflict” in even having troops in, and dropping bombs on, Syria
How many of those women are bearded?
