The amendment reads: "None of the funds made available by this Act to the United States Secret Service may be used to purchase, rent, or otherwise acquire goods or services, including hotel rooms, office space, or golf carts, from entities that are owned or operated by the President or the immediate family of the President."

Will that also apply to both Presidents Bush, President Clinton, President Obama, and President Carter? When the Secret Service requires space on the grounds of former President's residence they are required, by law, to pay fair market value for renting that space. If the Secret Service can't rent from the current president then they certainly shouldn't be able to rent from past ones.

IIRC the Secret Service pays rent for use of property on the Clinton Estate.

Some of you may not recall that both Obama and Biden made pretty substantial sums from renting out parts of their private residences to the SS during their terms. Probably still are.
