I think the outpouring of relief dollars will be bigger than ever before - because so much is needed - and because Texans aren’t sitting around with their hands out; they will WORK to rebuild their communities.
I’m also PRAYING that ALL money ends up where needed and not stolen as it was during the aftermath of Katrina. :(
It makes me want to cry when I read some of the lies posted on Face Book by my California cousins and some of my Eastern college student grandchildren. Today there is a nasty letter going around criticizing Trump because he didn’t hug, or kiss, any of the victims of Harvey!
Ridiculous! Don-cha-no, if he’d hugged someone, the harpies would have accused him of sexual harassment. Furthermore, everything Obama did was perfect in their eyes.
Makes me want to say that we’ll be sure to keep him home in DC should CA, or NY, suffer a cataclysmic earthquake and start crumbling and falling into the sea! Grrrrrrr.

I’m trying to remember the last President to donate funds from his own “stash” to assist following a catastrophe; I can’t remember one and I go back to Ike as far as being aware of who was President.
I’m not counting Obama’s benevolence with his Obamapho.
Trump is a very generous man, as many people have testified, but he doesn’t normally publicize the fact. (Do you blame him? There would be a line out the door with people begging for his help.) But many people have come forward and told of the help he’s given them — very quietly.
It is well known in New York that he gives privately to people in need.
He never made it public. Or else he would have already had his reward.

SPECIAL COUNCIL MUELLER REDIRECTS PROBE TO “TRUMP BRIBE”
In a clear case of pandering, Mister Donald Trump sent one million dollars to fund some questionable Hurricane Harvey “relief” efforts.
In response to what looks like a clear violation of Campaign Reform Laws and the lack of 501c PAC accredation, Robert Mueller has ordered his team to investigate where the money came from, where it went, and to ascertain the motivations of Mr. Trump.
“Donald Trump has clearly sought to influence the 2018 elections with this grandstanding and illegal donation,” Mueller said, “and he will be brought to justice.”
Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA), at her appearance on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show, reaffirmed her call for impeachment, stating “such illegal money sendin’ is not right for a President! He bribed the entire State of Texas! Impeach him today!”
The DOJ is considering opening a RICO money-laundering probe, said Attorney General Jeff Sessions: “It looks a little unseemly. I hate to say it, because President Trump is a friend, but several crimes may have been committed. I Can Haz Recuze Now?”
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan chimed in, calling this a “troubling development”.
