I would not doubt that the "deep state" has some deeply embarrassing information on Drudge that has forced him to be their puppet.

All it took to sway Justice Roberts on Obamacare was the deep state's threat of revealing that Roberts' sons were ILLEGALLY adopted.

I don't think there is an alternative on their scale. You have to cobble together a bunch of 3rd tier networks but that is still just a fraction of what google does.

Imagine a big table with money on it - google takes its arms and pulls all the money off the table save corners. Everyone else is just fighting over those corners.

My comment about stupid crap is that the barrier of entry into the adtech business is very low. That lower barrier of entry coupled with Googles searches don't seem as good as they used to be, way more ads, stupid PR mistakes, failed projects, getting way too political, being on the wrong side of Net Neutrality (its going to go away) after exercising amounts of influence via lobbyists and probably by filtering what people see. Scaring the crap out of their employees especially developers, I'm seeing a continuing trend that suggests bad leadership and a main product that could at anytime be up for grabs - things can go viral and preferences can change quite fast.

It is difficult to imagine google losing dominance but hubris is a bitch and a company that has a motto do no evil and then builds china a firewall they seem heavy in the arrogance department. I guess they can see the future with that google glass, me and my crystal ball sees trouble ahead from those Alphabets.
