TV star Steve Harvey is apparently pressing ahead with his commitment to help the Trump administration on its Housing and Urban Development initiatives despite the fierce backlash he received for meeting with then-President-elect Trump in January. In an extensive interview with the Hollywood Reporter published Tuesday, the comedian and Family Feud host revealed that he has been meeting with HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson to discuss building what he called “vision centers” in New York City, to teach STEM subjects and computer programming to children.

Very good idea. I hope it takes hold, and spreads across the entire country.

I just love seeing Steve Harvey on tv. His expressions crack me up. I love him with the kids and seniors on that show he does. He is extremely smart and funny.

I have heard him say on tv how much crap he took for going to visit president elect Trump. They must be friends.

But has Harvey made some serious enemies or what??? Twice in a month he is on the cover of the Enquirer with screaming headlines about what a horrible person he is. (And if the Ralph’s line hadn’t moved so fast, I’d know what it was about...). What is the deal, who is out to get him? He might work harder than Sean Hannity (nearly impossible): Sean only has ONE tv show. (But Sean would correctly say, “Yeah, but my show is live every night on current topics and Harvey can film an entire season in 8 hours” and be perfectly correct.)

At least he’s doing something to help his community. That’s more than can be said of those criticizing him.

“In April, Harvey told TMZ that he had met with HUD, and that Trump was keeping his promises to inner city communities on housing.

“As far as doing what he promised me he would do, he is doing it,” he said.”

I’m a big Steve Harvey fan...but really, Steve? Do you think Hillary would be doing this for you right now if she was President?

“Very good idea. I hope it takes hold, and spreads across the entire country.”

It’s not something the federal government should be doing.

Jim Brown and Steve Harvey working with Trump's people to aid the inner city people. If there are tangible positive results, the demonRAT party is "Dead, Zed, Dead."

In an ideal world, yes. But if we are to make progress towards that ideal world, we will first have to break the stranglehold that the Democrats have on the “inner-cities”, i.e. that part of America suffering from multi-generational poverty, family breakdown, chronic unemployment, etc. Step one in that process is helping people acquire marketable skills, something the Democrat-controlled public education system will never do.
